Possible recall Letter from Toyota the other day.. I posted it in another thread... Possible air bag problem... Since they don't have the parts to fix it and they aren't sure if it is a real problem... They said we shouldn't drive vehicle with someone in the front passenger seat until they can get it fixed.. They would not give us a rental car because the passengers can just sit in the back...

    Really impressive Toyota...

This is a new truck with new systems and Toyota does not want a repeat of bad publicity associated with recalls. They are being extra careful what ever that means.

I dont get it either. The trolls are chasing away many new members. You would think site staff would step up enforcement of trolls.

I tend to believe what you are saying however, another person on this forum (not posted in this thread) that works for a dealer in PHX said he could not comment on the situation which leads me to believe there is some truth to the stop sale order as he did not dismiss it as you are doing. At this point not sure who to believe.

Let's be honest - these threads are polluted by 1. trolls (I may be categorized as one as I have expressed my disappointment with the lack of change in the new truck) or 2. guys back slapping / congratulating each other (I have also done that)

The original message of the OP is often diluted because of posts of these two types.

So you can fix this problem by giving the OP a "like" or just hit the ignore button for the trolls. Bad thing is some trolls have useful messages.

I am new myself. I'm someone waiting for delivery as well. I was at the dealership the other day - my mother-in-law bought a Scion XB - and they had a 2016 TRD DC 4x4 Sport on the lot. The only 2016. They had received only 4 others prior. All 4 sold the day they arrived. Anyway the Sport was out of Baja. Which makes sense. I am in Nevada after all.

I came to this forum originally because I am new to Tacomas and new to off-roading. But this will be my 6th truck I've ever owned (Mazda B2000, two Ford F150s, two Tundras). All of them 2wd. Never took any of them off-road. Although I did stupidly drive my F150 through rather deep flash flood waters. It was so much fun!

My buddy bought a 2015 Tacoma DC Limited 4x4 about 6 mos ago. He's let me drive me quite a bit. I found the build and drive to be fantastic. For me, it hit the Goldilock zone of trucks.

Like a lot of things in life (I have found thus far), this forum fits the 80/20 split. 80% genuinely helpful folks and 20% anti-[fill-in-the-blank].

I'm a family man with a 70hr a week kinda' job. I plan on this truck getting me away from things. And helping me ween my kid off XBox and iPads. Heck, he's never seen a sky full of stars! Shame on me.

So I appreciate the 80%'ers here. And I really enjoyed Mike330R's posts and videos. He even gave us a real-world crawl-control demo video. I mean come on! That took some effort.

I was just at my dealer to put deposit down on TRDOR, and I asked about the stop-sale. I was told it was due to a "minor bolt issue in the bed." He was not sure what models/trim packages it affected.

Thank you. Should be a simple fix if needed. My '14 Silverado got a recall because a radiator clamp bolt or some such was not torqued properly at the factory - I'm not lying - apparently one of the lines had a bad wrench and they made the dealers check every one of the ones that went down the line. Point is, crap like this happens all the time no matter who builds the vehicle.

At least it's that and not the 4 electrical related recalls in my Ram 2500. POS.

Loose bolts is a pretty common issue. It can happen just because a single machine is off a bit torque wise.

Was just at a dealer here in Utah. Asked about the hold. Salesman went and asked someone. Came back and said that it was only TRD sports, and only from one of the two plants (he couldn't confirm which).
