hello everyone. I have a 2015 toyota tacoma dcsb. I would like to replace my muffler with the magnaflow 18". My question is, do i gain extra horsepower or better response when i step on the gas pedal? I talked to an assistant service manager and asked about the trd exhaust. He told me i am not gaining horsepower, gas mileage, and gas pedal response? Is it true? Any idea or suggestion?

I got a magnaflow 6" round x 18" body muffler and welded it in place of the stock muffler. I don't know if it adds anything I'm sure there's a little gain, but it's probably more bark than bite.

Is it worth it to install it? It sounds good. I have a quote for $180 parts and labor. Is that a good deal? Is it california legal? No problem with the smog?

Honestly it sounded the best to me. Not to loud not to quiet. I have a few other videos with the exhaust on while I was off roading too. I bought mine from eBay lol it was under $100, but I have no clue how much labor is since I did it myself. I haven't smoged it with the muffler yet, but I email the people at magnaflow and they said yes CA legal because it's after the cats.

Dozens of exhaust threads on this forum - do a search - consensus seems to be: no H.P. gains, mileage gains, and increased exhaust noise. If you are just wanting to change the sound of your truck, change the muffler.
