So food for thought for you fellow NY guys. I called Geico after Progressive raised my rates $53/month on my renewal this month, and they said no one can beat their rates in NY. Said they had such a large/strong customer base no one could offer as low a rate as they can.

Now, he could've been blowing smoke up my ass, but he just cut $140 off my monthly bill. I shit you not. It went from $1600 total for 6 months down to $730 for 6 months with Geico! That's $264/month to $122/month, $869.10 savings over 6 months, $1738.20 per year!!

Might be worth calling for a quote yourselves. Mind you, thats with the tacoma and pathfinder and half a dozens incidents on my license. Some are set to fall off in a couple months so it *should* go down even more. And I shaved an extra $10 ($740 to $730) by manually specifying the ignition lockout in the vehicle info section.

State Farm screwed one of my ex's over. They didn't bother to notify the DMV about her coverage so they thought she lapsed for 2 weeks and suspended her registration which lead to a suspended license. That was a pain in the ass and took over a year to sort out. It also lead to a ticket in Florida for driving with a suspended license (which we didn't know about at the time).

Also, that means I'm only paying $37 more than you for a second vehicle with 2 drivers, and 6 incidents (accidents and violations) on my record. So maybe Geico would be cheaper without the second car and a clean record.

Why do we have 2 NY threads? I've asked this before. Both are pretty slow, we should combine them.

LOL! I quit the whole NY thang. 2 winters was enough. I missed my guns, my wheeling, and all the $$ lost to NY taxes for people dependent on govt programs. As of a little over a week ago, I'm in AZ! This is just one area about 10 minutes from my house where I can wheel, at shoot whatever I have with me!

What's up NY? I'll be driving through North Jersey to Upstate NY this Saturday 10/10. If you see a 2nd Gen black taco with Florida license plate and front Gadsden flag tag, that would be me. I may or may not have a m/c in the bed if you see me.

'86 VFR 700 Interceptor. 2nd owner 8,800 miles. Hoping I can get some riding in, up to Windham, Hunter Mountain, and/or maybe Woodstock. Catskill was one of my old stomping grounds. I'll be up near Cairo/Catskill, so maybe we'll cross paths.
