Maybe I read something wrong, but it sure looks to me like someone had an issue with his use of the term "Squid" as a username.

Personally, I couldn't possibly care any less WHAT anyone chooses to use as a username. Nor do I care WHY they chose that name.

First of all his username doesn't even have squid in it.

No one cares what he calls himself.

What I pointed out was he told someone squid meant newbie. It doesn't. It has a connotation of a prior navy member or a poorly geared motorcycle rider.

Just to clarify .... SQUID has always been a nickname for any sailor in the USN. To further your education you can google POLLYWOG, SHELLBACK, KING NEPTUNE, CROSSING THE LINE (equator). It's an interesting tradition in the NAVY.

You left out Swabby! My best friend spent most of his career on the deck of the Forestall. He's been "Swabby" to us as long as I can recall.

We have Ed, Swabby, a 20+ year Anchor clanker, his dance partner, "Gomer", a Marine of 16 years, "Bird man", our Air Force buddy, and me, "Mud Chicken", a former artilleryman in the Army. That's our little group of friends that get together once a week to play cards and insult each others choices of uniform.

Okay, I see that after all the debate over the meaning of SQUID, your question about lighting never got answered. Sorry I can't help you, I've only done one minor light mod:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/kahtec-flashing-brake-lights.229229/#post-9455872

Try searching or reposting the question under the Lighting forum, a lot of TW members have done bodacious light mods and someone could probably help or has done something similar.

In other news, light bars are easy! go for it, unsure since your extended cab but a little research to figure out what you want as install is easy
