    Ah.

Well it took him several pages to say he found the truck on Craigslist and that the Sultan of Fuggishuaqua was the intended recipient of the truck so it was in a shipping container somewhere in the middle of the Dire Straits. For $1550 they would ship him the truck instead, let him have it inspected and if he didn't want it they'd cut him a check for $12,950 for his trouble, and he could keep the truck anyway.

    I know.

He did say "my dad said," so I guess early on it should've been somewhat clear that he was likely a teenager or young adult.

I'm surprised the dad didn't realize that a truck owned by the Sultan of Swat has more value than 10% of what it's actually worth.

    Some people are easily fooled.

Was doing a lot of construction work for awhile so I was on the road all the time for about 8 months driving all over the state. And on my free time I go out exploring old back roads as much as I can. These babies are meant to be driven! Haha, the more I drive it the more I love it! Not racking up miles like that anymore though, I found a decent local job that is only a mile commute instead of 300.

Shades of the old WW11 Jeeps "still in the crate" $100 bucks gag. Give the Op a break, he came for advice and got it, took multiple pies in the face, and didn't lose any money.

I agree. He screwed up and hopefully learned from it. This thread should be locked as it no longer has useful information.

OP seems fine to me. Even tossing jokes back at others.

You two are more sensitive than the kid who started the thread. It's all good and all in good fun, and he learned a lesson.

This is 100% a scam. Do some quick search on google and you'll find out fast. Another scenario is a soldier about to deploy and needs to get rid of a car quickly. How did they ask you to make payment?
