    More shit then I ever planned on doing
    100% correct! Pre loading any coil over will make it ride stiff! I had my kings preloaded to 3" of lift and it road stiff. Dropped it back down to 2.25" and my ride improved drastically. Still slightly stiff but in a good way, if that makes sence.

    When I bought my Tacoma, the previous owner threw in a Toytech Boss kit that he never got around to installing. I heard it described as "plush" by one person in a thread I read several months ago. It is NOT "plush", but then again, it isn't harsh either. Just "firm" at lower speeds. Personally, I'm NOT satisfied with it. I actually preferred the ride when it was stock. Now that I've put different tires on it, I'm even LESS satisfied with the ride. To get decent gas mileage, I'm running my Duratracs with a bit more pressure than I'd like. That contributes to the "bounce" when I hit a bump. Looking at several options as far as suspension changes going forward.

    That said, I'm "old school" with my 4wds. I expect 'em to ride like a truck, but it doesn't have to rattle my teeth when I hit a bump.

    My biggest complaint with my suspension is the sensation that the front end is ricocheting off bumps. The rear actually rides pretty good. But, as I said in a previous post, I think a lot of the problem is over-inflation of tires (relative to inflation that would provide a good ride)

    Lots of variables. You just can't take what worked for one truck and expect the same unless most everything on the truck is similar. Spring rate and length of spring, shock valving, weight of truck and payload weight, alignment and others. Not to belittle toytec boss lift ( as I'm sure there is an application these great for), but Kings, Fox, Icon, Sway a way and other racing shocks are just in a different league. The way may coilovers are set up, if you put them on a stock single cab they would probably make you pee blood, but on my heavy double cab they ride very nice. They are others but Down South Motor Sports can help anyone with proper application.

    Yes....preload.....THey're considered 0" to 3" and I'm at 2-3/4" on the front. That high preload is probably a contributing factor to my DISlike of the ride quality. Gonna try to back 'em down a little first chance I get.

    I'm also going to start backing down the pressure in my front tires until I see gas mileage start to tail off. Running 35 psi now. I tried 'em at 30psi early on, but the gas gauge imploded on a 400 mile road trip. Plan is to see next what happens at 32 psi. I may come home from work tomorrow and back off the preload on the shocks until I get down to what amounts to a 2" lift. 95% of my driving is 70mph+ concrete interstate driving. I need to tailor the suspension to that.

    Thats actually good for offroad too. When they are preloaded a bunch there is almost no down travel which make for a very poor ride on and off road.

    Do the obvious... get rid of the 20 inch wheels, and swap them w some 16's. More sidewall= smoother ride. Your welcome.

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
    My truck drives fantastic with the complete overhaul of my suspension. It will take some coin to get there as you want to do it right the first time. When I took all the factory stuff off I was amazed at how cheap the stuff was. I guess weight is a issue as well as MPG's and cost when they design these. Before the suspension overhaul I could feel all the bumps in the road. Now it drives great. It will set you back at least $5000.

    Bilstein 5100 with 884 Springs. Full audio system. Stealth 6 Wheels. Cali led light.
    2015 TRD Sport short bed. Bilsteins 5100 all around and and the front shocks set at 0 and 884 coils it made my new truck act like a total different truck. My wife said it was better than my stock set up.
