NW WA Meet / BS Thread

Oh nice, some of us were just over there in July. Did the Idaho back country discovery route

 

I like the Moyie Springs area of North Idaho. Every mothers day weekend they have a massive mud bog party right off HYW 2 that is tons of fun.

 

Idaho is great... Did a lot of training in the "Orchards" training area east of Boise while in the Army and fell in love with the area and the freedom it provides. No one gives a damn what anyone else is doing, and it's beautiful. I only wish it wasn't such a long drive to get to the southern region.

Also- the Boise Stage Stop has the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. I've probably eaten them a dozen times, and they never get old. The cannibalistic nature of the ground squirrels is a bit off putting, however.

 

Just north of Graingeville, off of highway 13, there is the Elk City Wagon trail that runs from there into Elk City. Not hard but all dirt and lots of beautiful views.

There is the Magruder Corridor road that runs from Elk City east of Graingeville that is a lot of fun. Fairly easy but no pavement for a 100+ miles. Ends up near Darby Montana.

Also, there is the Lolo Motorway on the north side of (paralleling) Highway 12. A little rougher than the Magruder but not hard by any means with spectacular views.

 

Would anybody be interested in getting together for a meet-up offroading sesh on October the 11th? I've got the day off. Area yet to be determined, but i'd like to see if we can rope some more stock guys that want to go wheeling, so maybe some FS roads, or Tahuya?

OR if @dakotasyota has any vanilla areas/trails on his side that he wants to show off... Cause he's been wanting to go wheeling with people on that side of the mountains.

 

Id like to check out some more stock friendly trails. If its a Sunday, thats perfect.

BTW Parts of Tanya might be a teensy bit tough on the bottom of a stock rig. Should be OK if you're careful. Otherwise the rest is just flexing fun!

Heh, Ok, awesome. Just Fyi, I did tahuya and i have a pretty much stock vehicle, just offroad tires. I have a TRD offroad package. BUT! that doesn't mean that we have to do tahuya. If we can get some more guys that want to do stock stuff, i know some great FS roads up around snoqualmie, and NF115 that offers some challenges for stock vehicles. nothing to strenuous, just some tough hill climbs and a few tricky spots, but nothing scary. @rl206 and i tackled NF115 and he's bone stock. no offroad tires even, and he did ok. he doesn't have a TRD package, and he was doing everything i was.

Ehhhhhhhhh I kinda don't want to drive somewhere just to drive FS roads. Little burned out on that. I still really do wanna hit up Tahuya!

 

As well, I like the idea of hooking up with @dakotastoyota to do some east side trails. Dakota?

 

We're working on that. Trails are tight around here. I'm trying to figure out what's the best to suit a range of built rigs.
