Front strut rod nuts: re-usable?

    The Toyota service manual indicates that strut rod nuts, the ones that secure the front shock to the upper mounting plate, are not reusable parts.

    Is it really necessary to replace these when disassembling/ reassembling the struts? If so how much does the stealership charge for these bad boys?

    if your talking about the three top nuts and studs, I have always re used them.

    Ah....Depends on the shock. Some come with replacements, others dont, and you have to re use the OEM nut. Never had an issue with any re used. :)

    FWIW, the reason they say its not a re usable nut, is because its a Nylock nut.
