    And you'll have the tranny out any how. I've split many cases. The hard part about synchros is that there's two places they can wear, the blocking section and the cone!

    To me it sounds like your little blocking fingers are fine where it won't go into the gear. The cone is what matches the speed of the gear with the output shaft. You could change your tranny fluid with a synthetic gear oil or a cocktail of sorts that will have better wear properties than conventional oil if you haven't already.

    and yes, the 6 speeds shift like dump trucks.

    I am going to change the transmission oil soon, was going to go with the AMSOIL GL-4

    The dump truck shift took some getting used to, but I am fine with it now. Except 5th.

    Good plan! I'd change it before you drop it. That way you know whether or not you need to get it looked at. 5th is a weird gear to wear out. I haven't driven the 6 speed enough to know what gear is the cruising gear, but I feel like 2nd and 3rd would wear the most and be the first to fail!

    Does the truck let you put it in gear without the clutch or does it grind?
