Not econoline. Any rear housing out of an 80's F 150 will be 65 or so inches wide. You want to stay away from the Bronco 9 inch rear ends that are 60 inches wide.

Scratch that, you said track width. Not flange to flange. A 66 inch wide track width is not very wide. Are you sure you are measuring correctly?

I don't know much about axles. I know the tacoma was 60 inches from somewhere to somewhere and I need 66" to bump 3" on each side. That way it matches up with the front being 3.5 over.

    Stuff and junk and things...

Yes you can, but you will need to take the shock apart to do it. If you're not comfortable to do that then have someone swap the hose in. You can also get the hose made locally at any hydraulic supply store.

    Yes
If you are talking about difficulty removing them spend the $ for a nice spot weld drill bit kit...it had all of mine off in 30 minutes, no air chiseling or grinding etc needed.

Probably just get a tundra then. A built 9'' will be twice the cost of your budget.

You do not need a built 9 inch rear end. You can find yourself a stock housing with stock gears and drum brakes for anywhere from 150 to $350. After that all you need if you want to get fancy is a disc brake swap kit which will utilize early model Chevy calipers and then pick your appropriate gearing. 31 spline axles will be just fine for you.

I am , I drilled em out and then taking a grinder too em. Not that much of a pain.

The front ones are the ones that they spot weld em on the rear 4 are just welded on the outside and top and they took a minute. I'll never have you deal with cams again so I'm not worries about the tool. Thanks tho man.

A diff with gears and locker you looking at 6 to $800. After all that put together it still twice as strong as a Tundra axle. And cheap to replace if you ever bend a housing or break an axle. As far as the yoke goes, it's either of 1320 or 1310 that will match up with your Toyota driveshaft.

So if you are building a custom axle what would the ideal WMS-WMS be? First gen with a 3.5 kit.

    Yes
I had them on my last kit and they were great, my new kit has poly bushings and the front end doesn't feel as solid and it squeaks...I know " race car parts make race car noises " ...but I'm saving up for delrin bushings for my LCA's
