    I love the OEM look.
Which switch is used to turn on the bed lights? Is it wired straight to the battery or is there a relay?

I don't believe there is a switch with this kit. It comes on when you unlock the truck

the tundra install comes on with door, keyfob, or bed lights (since tundras have bed lights in the chmsl)
the tacoma doesn't have a bedlight switch, so door/fob only

you can wire it anyway you want obviously

    just installed.

    they work GREAT

drill templates are 100% spot on...when you print them, be sure to measure the
1 inch line provided, and confirm the print is 'what you see is what you get' mine was
    exact.

only thing odd is when you -first- connect the rear leds to the main harness, (or disconnect
then reconnect them) key fob won't turn them on. open door, they turn on.

after that, key fob or door turn them off and on.

odd how the initial plug-in somehow makes it skip keyfob action until after the
    door is opened once.

anyhow yes they light up the whole bed. I have a softtopper and it lights up
the entire inside. and it comes with a Toyota 1 yr warranty on the parts.

looks exactly like Tacoma bed material so it totally looks stock, fits right in

Just did this mod today and could not be happier with the results. The termination wires for my 2011 were the same as the instructions for the Tacoma. The hardest part was getting down the frame rail by the gas tank from back to front when running the wiring harness. And because I didn't want to cut the wiring gromet working the additional harness into and through it was a struggle but worth it for no cuts. Otherwise it was a great afternoon mod and I love it tied to the interior dome light. Thanks to all contributors for the info.

I was going to install the Tundra/Tacoma led cargo bed light kit that I got. Instead I went for the F150 style led cargo bed lights. It ain't cheap but I love that look of it being stock/oem-ish.

Got them installed yesterday. Yes they do light up the whole bed.

Light output. Yes I know you can get a better light out put, and it's cheaper with led strips. But I ain't a fan of it. I ain't looking to lighting up a whole neighborhood.

True, but I'm always looking to go in different routes then everyone else. Don't get me wrong not saying anything bad about the Tundra/Tacoma kit(I got that kit the first time I read about it).

The F150 lights look great. They sit flush, unlike the Toyota OEM ones, so that they are less obstructive when loading items. And that switch is waterproof and sits flush also. A much better fit than OEM.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Which is the cheapest route? I'm guessing the Toyota version is, but I'm feeling that flush fit on the ford kit

I paid $188.85 shipped(fyi it's that much because you're paying for a whole kit for an F150). I tried sourcing each part but to no avail. You have to make your own template to have those led pods(that's what I call them) fit flust on the side of the bed. I got them on eBay. Looked back and eBay seller doesn't list them anymore.
That's a lot lower price then what I paid for.

The Tundra/Tacoma kit would be your best bet, price wise.

How does it hook up? Compared the Toyota kit?

Since the kit isn't specific to Toyota, you can pretty much hook it up anyway you want. I ended up hooking it up straight to the battery with an inline fuse to be on the safe side.

The only draw back is that the lights only come on when you hold down on the switch. Not to sure why it works like that, I guess it's a Ford thing(I'm a newb when it comes to wiring by the way haha). Would adding a relay help in this situation?

I am thinking of adding an in cab switch under the hazard switch.
