Just an update on an LED instalation (Fighter Cockpit MOD). Yesterday and today I decided to add some more LEDs.

    Original install thread:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/57987-finnished-led-interior-mod-pics.html

I had a few LEDs left over from www.Oznium.com and decided that the rear Access Cab doors needed some light in the cup holders along with the inside of the center console.

I tapped into a hot wire from the LEDs in the front doors:
    IMG_0739_2b55798cfbbefb3a19d1bd5b989841fda5900254.jpg

I took off the trim for the door sill and ran the hot wire to the rear door:
    IMG_0740_889485e5a79fcd384653669291138a303debc758.jpg

In order to get to the hole where you can snake the hot wire to the inside of the rear door, you need to pull the rear trim wall (wish i had some sound deadener since i was back there:):

    IMG_0738_192f8a32cf79c3fd3a95c1e2c7809d8021ed48b9.jpg

I used a coat hanger to snake the hot and a ground through that ribbed rubber tubing:

    IMG_0742_586208ba8bb8585415f17d6ce402d4dba0055324.jpg

The rear doors and interior center console LEDs are all wired the the existing wiring I did in the previous thread, and connected to this OEM ebay fog switch:

    Very nice.

I have the interior lights package, so I already have LED lighting in the cupholders, center console, and both front floorboards.

I really like the look of those door bottle holder LEDs though. Really completes it. Might have to look into doing that myself...kickass work.

Yes, it's a factory/dealer option. I don't recall the cost because that's not how I shop. The floorboard LEDs are white, the center console/cupholder LEDs are orange to match the gauges/dash controls.

Edit: Tried to take pictures, and they came out shit because my digital camera just isn't that great in low light.

Soft white light in the floorboards, enough to read by. Soft orange light in the cupholders/center console, enough to see and find your toll booth change, but I wouldn't read by it.

Nice! I like the idea of having different colors.

    I think I have 17 LEDs total:

    2 in each door cup holder (4 doors x 2 in each door ) = 8
1 in each cup holder near the stick = 3
1 in the center console rear cup holders = 1
1 in the lower vent in the rear of the center console = 1
    2 under the ac controls = 2
    2 inside the center console = 2

17 total! I may add a few down by the feet for the driver and passenger side...i don'w want to overkill it!

I bought some LED's from Oznium.com as well and will be installing them as soon as I meet up with my truck again. I was wondering if you found it distracting at night at all? Thanks for the insperation.

Not at all. I used blue (5mm) just make sure you mount them so they are not in your direct eye sight while sitting in the driver seat!
