I actually received these earlier than expected but these were texted to me from a sales lady at the dealer in Ft. Walton.

Maybe this has been mentioned but on the Southeast Toyota site I noticed that you now have the option to search for the 2016 Tacomas. I just glanced at the first page but they looked like they weren't going to be hitting dealers until late October.

Unfortunately they won't be selling this one. This is for educational purposes and test drives.

It's like wringing out a sponge, they have to trickle out from the squeezing point.

I am a tad concerned after seeing the SET stock....None of the TRD Sport 2WD have premium w/JBL. My dealer said they found one....All of them have $1000 worth of Mop and glow from the port. I won't be buying any new truck with $1000 worth of ToyotaCare crap and $300 Mats,

When your name appears on the registration, the truck starts looking better.

Mine was apparently build on the 12th and I am told it won't be here until mid to late Oct. I guess they need to use it for drug running over the mexican border first....then deliver to NJ

Maybe that ties back into the JBL shortage that has been reported here on TW? But yeah that is a bit alarming. The thing that concerned me was that there weren't any 4x4's.

That 3rd gen kool aid. I heard each dealer has some for perspective buyers. That and a bottle of lube when discussing pricing terms.

If I cannot get exactly what I want, I will punt and buy a used gen2 or 15 left over TRD OR for $28800 I need a back up plan.....

I sent an email to my dealer to send me a VIN number on the one he claimed they found. Or a build date. If I get stuck with paying for mop and glo at MSRP. I will pass and buy or lease a leftover and wait a year or two. I don't ahev to have the Gen 3 now.

My dealer is usually pretty good though. But I would not put it past them to "oops we didn't know" I have no problem buying another GEN 2....or a 4 Runner

I live in Charlotte. Do think Scott Clark will get the majority of them at first or will all the dealers be getting them first week of October?

I have been a little touch and go on here lately but it sounded like you were well on your way to becoming an early third gen owner. Is that not the case any more or is yours still on track?

I was given an offer two weeks ago and haven't heard a peep from my dealer since.

I am sure it will be a toss up between the two market leaders. Town and Country Toyota and Scott Clark are always back and forth for the market share. Same volume anyway.

Town and Country does the no negotiation pricing though, so they may be the better deal from the start. I am sure Scott Clark will stick closer to MSRP and make you negotiate.

Looking at SETs list of Tacomas, I have not seen one with the JBL P&T package and a whole lot with $1000 in Mop and Glo and Mats. I sent my dealer an email to get a build date or VIN number on the one they said they found and snagged for Mid October Delivery. I should hear back tomorrow.

I gave my deposit and told them what I wanted (and didn't want) They claimed they "found my Tacoma" a few days later but with what I am seeing at SET, I am wondering if they really found a truck, as they did not send me a real VIN but a placeholder.

I am not going to pay $36K for a 2WD Sport with non JBL P&T, with a lot of Port junk on the Sticker.

If I cannot get exactly what I want, I see no reason to buy a 16. I will likely look at 4 Runners before buying another Gen 2 Tacoma.

I don't blame you. I would give them three choices at that point.

    1. Throw it in at no cost
    2. Take it off
    3. Kick rocks

4runners are nice. I am curious if they will be redesigning it for 2017.

I am in the same boat...sort of. All the dealers down here in the panhandle have been non responsive and hardly helpful to say the least. I have become sort of desensitized to the whole process. Thinking about spending my money elsewhere. I have just wanted a Tacoma for so long.

My gripe with SET is they do put a lot of port junk on there to drive the price up. When I 'ordered' my 09, I made sure they got exactly what I wanted. They were able to snag it before it hit the port, and before they added the useless things like Toyoguard, ugly white DRLs, $800 paint sealant on only the hood, etc.

ETA: Just looked at SETs site, which does show all incoming trucks, and one had $1400 in added port junk, which included:
    ~$700 for Toyoguard Elite
~$600 for door and hood paint film
~$70 for a "Phone cable and charge package"
And when did carpet mats become $329?
