Best way I could think of to mount awnings to 1.75" Tube. Crazy solid, all stainless hardware as well. Anyone looking for a solution ot that problem, let me know, we cut out a ton of these plates from our CNC machine.

Thanks for the advice on the shell guys. Bought it today and will be putting a Prinsu toprac on shortly. Moving the tent onto there and having it fold off the back instead of off the side of the AccessRac will be really nice.

Is anybody interested in the Thule bars on it currently? I'll be selling them.

Looking for a Tacomaworld opinion before I move ahead with my bank account dump. I am about to buy a Leer 100rcc, roof top tent, and Prinsu rack. I got a 2014 DCSB and need a canopy because I feel better with the increased security and my ARB fridge, climbing / camping gear, and auxillary battery setup in the back.

I was quote $1650 for the 100rcc. It is the best canopy I can find which can handle the weight of the RTT plus two people. Especially since I'm leaning towards the XL Ruggedized (Tepui is 40 minutes away).

Let me know what you think.

You will love the canopy. I got the 100R after looking at the RCC. The price seems extremely good depending on your options. My 100R with vented windoors on both sides, drop down slider in the front, carpeted headliner, and thule tracks was $2100 IIRC. The RCC was closer to $2600 so either you have less options or you are getting a killer deal.

Lots of people worry about the weight of a tent on the canopy but I am yet to see someone who has broken the canopy from too much weight on the roof. I have had two shells now both non-reinforced models and never had an issue with either carrying the tent. Expedition overland has driven more miles than anyone I know with a tent on their shell across north america with no problems. Go for it!

So im sure this has been reviewed in detail somewhere in the last 250+ pages, but has anyone put lighting in their tents? Im thinking an led strip attached to the main support bar inside the tent, wired down to the bottom and out the floor to a tiny waterproof connector so that i can detach it easily. Id like to put a wired or wireless dimmer do i dont have to blind the tent at night. Also thought about 1 white strip and 1 red strip on separate switches so i can maintin night vision at night. Ideas?

I have 2 led strips that run to a controller with a wireless remote. I can dim or change colors of the leds. I can try to get all the links and what pictures I have of it late tonight.

I love seeing all the ingenuity some folks are putting into their rtt lighting schemes; the setups are well thought out and executed. I go the low-tech route of hanging my headlamp on the top bar and leaving one of these in the annex for late-night excursions.

This is what I have. I got it from superbrightleds.com but I don't see it on there anymore. They have other ones now that link with smart phones now.

2 led strips one on either side of the tent.

The power and the controller are all centralized in the pelican case

I have since velcro'd all the wires up this was a test run
