    I hate seeing those 3 scratch marks on my brand new coils I just installed yesterday. Hopefully it won't scratch it even more as what it is.

    It doesn't seem like turning the wheel should have anything directly to do with it. The relationship between the coil and the UCA does not change when you turn the wheel. Are you certain it is the UCA that is striking the coil? Could it be the upper edge of the spindle? That does rotate when you turn.

    Yea sorry the upper edge of the spindle. I'm not all familiarized with all the front components yet. I was wondering if I could trim the spindle off a little bit so it wouldn't scratch/chip my coils.

    Of all the possible options, that is not the one I would choose.

    If you can't afford new UCAs then rotating the coil would be my next choice. You may find a sweet spot where it doesn't hit. You probably don't have to rotate it very much to find the gap in the coil.

    Swapping side to side may also do it but no guarantee of that. If fact, you may find both sides hit if you do that.

    I might have to rotate the coil. Have any idea how I can rotate it without taking it off and compressing the coil just to twist it? And talks for all the help.

    Does anyone here run 700# coils in there 2.5" coilover? Is it too stiff? Was wanting to go to 14" coils anyway, but can't decided on 650# or 700#.

    Installed some parts...

    Then took 'em all out on a shakedown on some un-numbered USFS lake road.

    The 2.5 RR Radflo's are super smooth; I can hit all sorts of exposed rock at speed, no problem. The Wheelers 5 pack, not so much. Tamed the 'British nanny' ride a bit with 120lbs of sandbags, but it feels like they're so stiff they overpower the OME shocks in back. Turns out they're made by Betts spring now. Anyone else go these newer non-Alcan versions?

    For the love of god don't trim or clearance anything that has to do with the stock suspension...

    Yes. You can usually get a better one anyways..

    you can run 700s. I wouldn't advise it unless your have a heavy ass truck though(Plate bumper, winch, full skids, dual battery. 650s will be just fine.

    the 5 leaf packs, at least mine which i will admit are the Alcans :cool:, are stiffer then your stock ones yes. Let them break in. The more you flex em and use them the better they will get. Adding weight helps like you did. Get a rear bumper perhaps is the next step :p

    Well I have a front plate bumper, probably add full skids sometime, sliders are in the new future...plus all the steel added to the frame... that probably doesn't add alot of front weight though. How much does your truck weigh?

    Cool, thanks. I went with the 5-pack planning for more permanent weight in the back with a cap and swingout, so that should help.
    Hmm, no. I used the OME shackles & assumed they needed to be torqued down beforehand to keep the side plates in place?

    You just want hand tighten until wheels are on and weight is on suspension and tgen torque everything down so you don't bind the bushings up. Maybe why they feel a little harsh b/c they are not free at ride height.
