I understand your position on this and it is admirable, but I agree with the above post and would not let him touch your dash. Have him redo the windshield yes, I'd give him that opportunity, but dash at the dealer on his dime no exceptions. Truly hope it works out for you op.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
Another vote for the windshield only by the owner, let Toyota restore the interior....the owner is a specialist at windshields (one would hope), but certainly I would not let him do the dash and trim restore, no way, not a chance in hell....

Take it to Toyota, this way you know the work gets done correctly. Have the company pay the bill.

BINGO! I'm with ya on that.
If I were in the OP's shoes, I would not allow a glass installer to do that type of work.

Once the dash is in by the glass guy, it could squeak, rattle etc and you'd have a tough time getting him to correct to noise issue.

    Go dealer on that job.

I posted this thread on their Facebook page on the 16th. I think the dealer should do the repairs, as mentioned, they are more competent at the inside parts replacement.

This is what the owner sent me after I linked his FB page with this thread. I think he mistook me for the OP:

This is the worst work I have ever seen.
He would have done better if he got a book & watched a you tube video.
Let us know how it works out.

Is HE replacing the dash too? I might be okay with him doing the windshield, but never the dash, ever.

/\ I agree with what everybody is saying, take it to Toyota for all other repairs.

That looks like the workings of a huffer, I bet he'd just got done huffing toxic substances. Also probably keeps some of that windshield glue shoved up in his nasal sinus cavity.

Just had the windshield on my sons 00 Taco replaced yesterday. Before the installer did anything I showed him the pics on this tread. His jaw dropped and said that was the worst he had ever seen. He did a great job and will be coming back next week to install a solid rear window on the Taco. Hate that dual split window on the 00. It screams pry me open and take my stuff.

Just a thought, can save yourself some loot and put a bar in the track for added security. A few guys on here have done that.

Can a criminal even fit through the rear sliding window?
