Exactly...There are trucks already allocated to dealers for stock. Although I "ordered" a truck (or rather requested), it is not a "special order" as the dealer located one as I optioned already allocated to another dealer and intercepted it. It was going to be a "stock" vehicle.

I only wanted two options Tow package which comes on every SR5+ in the southeast,,and the FPAT Premium tech w JBL. Nothing else On a DCSB Sport 2WD, Apparently it is already allocated and may be built soon for mid October arrival.

 

Exchanged messages with dealer today. Says status went from A to F then back to A. He said they are delaying DCLB w/ JBL. No info beyond that, he said he will keep me posted. Check the temp VIN he originally, said still same. Hoping this means its built and got stopped to fix whatever is slowing things up. Also said no stop sell, just delays on certain builds.

 

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but if I understand right, this screenshot is only for factory orders, so if mine was just a redirected allocation, it wouldn't be on this list?

 

OK, what are the various status'? My dealer sent me the lamest screenshot ever that showed "Location Date: BC:9/24"

Those are vehicles that are available to be "ordered" and delivered within a couple of weeks. Basically they are already built just need a destination or may be considered a "pool unit"

 

My dealer emailed me today to tell me mine is arriving soon and sent me a vin number

 

As far as have been told, A status is allocation, which I am assuming is built and has a destination. F status is freight, meaning finally on its way. Saw one post saying his status didn't change, and VIN wasn't issued until it already hit port, had the truck two days later, if I rember right.

As for BC, first guess would be Baja California, but I've gotten nothing from dealer with anything like that. I need to ask for a screenshot today.

 

A status is allocated to build with a placeholder VIN. Everything is in limbo until it hits F status with a real VIN and shipping status of some sort. And yes my data sheet did not change until it hit port of entry.

My vin starts with a three and it's at port I'm hoping since it got a VIN issued and is at port it should be here any day now. Hopefully you can strike a good deal on the truck

good luck. i cant get any of that info out of those guys. my truck was "built" on the 12th and the only info i get is " its on hold at the factory due to the stop sale"

 

Yeah, its a lot of stalling. I was told no stop sale, just a delay related to DCLB. Apparently "You can't handle the truth" is their feeling

 

So weird, i do feel like i get the run around because i ask too many questions and know more answers then they do. i am not getting a long bed but a short bed. maybe they thought i would stop calling and wait for them if they told me it was on hold.

 

It's so DUMB that they don't just come out and say what's going on....

 

No, it's smart for them to say as little as possible in anticipation of when the inevitable lawsuits start if its a serious defect...
