Man, I need to dig up some photos of my 1981 SR5 5spd pick-up. My wife nicknamed it Trigger when we got married. Good memories, missing ole Trigger. :)

LoL, you're gonna need a few bags ... I'll look for them next couple of days off. I have no idea where to start, but my wife probably knows. :fingerscrossed:

I wish I would have taken pic of the old '83 mud truck. As said before, missing it looking at all these.

She found it Doc! This is the one I was thinking of, and possibly the only one we have. I'd forgotten about the bigass AIR FORCE on the back window of the cap. I was a bit ate up as a young airman.

Thanks Doc ... First truck I drove regular was my Dad's 1973 Ford F100 that was his hunting/fishing/wood cutting rig. Trigger was the first truck that was all mine. I sure was proud of that truck. :) The only reason I let him go was when we got pregnant with our first son, he got traded on a family friendly ride. Young airmen couldn't afford two vehicles back in those days. ;) It was 24 yrs before I got my next truck, that's my current one.

My thanks to you for this thread inspiring me to dig up the pic and recall some very fond memories.

Dad's old green Toy....he had this when I was a baby. When he sold it I was about 4 or 5....I cried and refused to talk to him for a week which in kid terms was just short of eternity. The day the guy came to pay and drive it away was very traumatic for me. I remember sitting on my mom's lap at the kitchen table, crying my eyes out, and the guy asked what was wrong. Mom told him that I was upset that the truck was going away. I think he had second thoughts about buying it at that moment... I remember hanging out with dad on his days off and we'd run errands or go to breakfast in the truck. I think I just liked it because it was the only vehicle that I could see out of the windows  Saw it a couple years ago and was tempted to knock on the people's door and ask if they'd sell it to me...body is rusted all to hell but otherwise it looked good considering its age.

Awesome Lisa! Thanks for sharing this. The bolded part, Grandson Sage loved riding with me and Bear in my current truck; probably because of that and I let him play with the window button and radio buttons as he wanted to. Your post here made me smile :) ... And tear up a little. These little trucks have a way of touching your soul. o_O

Most road trips when you're little are just clouds, treetops and utility poles....but in the Toy I could actually see the rest of the world!!!!
I think the emotional trauma of losing green Toy plus dad teaching me to drive in the hills in the 94 Toy truck contributed to my current obsession with Toys.

Sounds like my son and I. I think that is why he loves riding in the truck with me - can see out. When I look back at him in the mirror he is always looking around. :)
