We just did the DNA test on our pit mix. Thought he was pit lab, turned out we were wrong. We ordered a few more of these for some of our other dogs to see what they are.

We guessed collie as well and its still possible considering the one side is so mixed. Akita wasn't ever in my list.

Spent Wednesday through last night in Wisconsin at the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (NSDTR- US) National Specialty. No wonder we call our dogs Tollers, that is a mouth full. The breeder showed my youngest dog Nova for his NSDTR club conformation and Dan Rhode showed him for AKC conformation. Dan owns the number one Toller in the Country right now, he spent a lot of time helping me on his coat and grooming. It was a privilage to have him help me and show my puppy.

Ended up 4th place in both club and AKC. Saturday was hunt test day and why I wanted to go. Did the BRT, Basic Retrieving and Tolling Test 7 dogs ran it and we were the only ones to pass. Now I want to start collecting duck bands.

First leg is 2 land retrieves. Then 6 Tolling throws using bumper, ball or stick. Tolling is unique to the Toller tests of course.

Last leg if you are a call back is 2 water retrieves.

People came from Alaska to Mexico for the event. One gentleman from Maine had a license plate that I really liked seeing how I am primarily an upland hunter.
I asked him why he didn't have a Toller license plate like many of the others there and he said he did, it was on his jeep in the driveway back home. I need to get some vanity license plates

Remi is growing fast. 5 months old this Saturday. Heading to the vet tomorrow for spay and microchip. She'll have the cone of shame for 5 days. Somehow I doubt it'll stay on that long!

Got married on the 6th. Our puppy (now 9 months old) was the ring bearer, and present for some of the family photos. perhaps the best part though, was when we were across an entire field from him taking some photos. My brother let him off the leash, and he ran his little ass off all of the way across the field, weaving through 100 guests, right into our arms.

had to get him a proper bow-tie for the wedding

the three of us are a now official a family.....even though the dog doesn't have a ring to match.

on another note, he's got really short legs and is a sprinter, not a long distance runner, so while we were on the honeymoon, I ordered a solution to this "problem" tested it out over the weekend with success :)

as far as I can tell, he enjoyed the ride

    Cute dog, Colin. What breed?
Congrats on the wedding man. Our first dog was in our wedding too. He was our ring bearer. Super cool to involve them in the big day.
