It's kind of my thing. I just don't get all the 'Ohhh, it's not a manual!' crap I read/hear. My Supra was an auto too and I caught endless shit about how it wasn't a 6spd. That's fine if you want a 6spd but I like drinking Slurpees and road-head. Manual transmission just messes up my two favorite past times while driving.

I think 20-30 years ago, a person's individual skill with a manual could make a difference over an automatic. These days, you pretty much have to be a true professional to be better than the autos. For me its an easy choice at least. I like the ease and comfort, but I also lived in an area where the commutes were hell and every little thing to make that easier was nice.

It all personal preference. Autos are faster now than any human can shift. I like to shift and feel the revs and make the choice of when that occurs, not performance driven and surely not economic as they get better mpg too

Lol I didn't intend to start a debate on manuals vs autos.

Close, that whole thing/tab/window/whatever is the timeline, into which all your different tracks go. You can have multiple tracks in a timeline, audio or video.

    Some pics from last weekend.

Up Kingston Pass in the dark:

Glow sticks we put on my friend Ethan's helmet:

Camp 1 somewhere above Alice, CO.

Denver is off below the low clouds.

    My compatriots!

    Lots of changing colors.

    Saxxon Mountain coming into Georgetown
    [IMG]

Ted pealed off at Georgetown due to an anxiety disease that flared up badly. Medicine would make him unable to ride further so he hoofed it back to Denver.

    Guanella Pass
    [IMG]

    Redcone:

Heading up to the ridge on Redcone and the sun was right in my eyes, gah!

I didn't need to dodge rocks, just throttle it out! What's the worst that could happen....

    "I got it, I got it, I got it,.... I don't got it." :lol3
    [IMG]

    On Redcone peak
    [IMG]

Slid about 25% of the way down the first descent then I was like "I can roll this out, easy!"

It was so loose and powdery that not much braking could be applied without inducing a slide so I was committed and had no choice but to roll it out. Got going a good 40-45 mph when I got to the bottom. Scaaaaaaaaaaaary!

    Looking back from the bottom:

    Second descent:

Started picking up speed and sliding the rear at the lightest application of brakes so instead of laying it down at 10mph I decided to try and ride it out. Again, commitment.

Another 40-45mph but the rocks were muchhhhh larger at the bottom. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
    [IMG]

My front suspension is not setup for rocks. Somehow I kept it up, not sure how. Adrenaline+++
    [IMG]

Ethan went ahead on the third and last descent:

I walked it down most of the way not wanting to try my luck a third time:

CJ was having some trouble on his DR350 with a lot of luggage so we bypassed Radical Hill and went for Montezuma.

I went back and did another lap through the puddle :p
    [IMG]

It wasn't the best idea with the falling temps and sun which was setting; COLD. But it was fun!

Took a wrong™ turn in Montezuma (and I didn't know there was an easy way to get to civilization from Montezuma) and ended up on the ridge trail that goes around and comes down along the Swan River.

The track and the trail system didn't quite match up in a spot causing some debate and discord in the group due to the rough going for some. It also consumed an hour to reach 100% consensus to push on instead of turning around... Group dynamics sometimes...

The sun fell and it snowed briefly too. The stars were pretty nice though.

The next morning CJ who fell over 9 times the day before split for home and Ethan and I pressed on down 9 and over Mosquito.

    One slight oops:

Down to Leadville for some lunch:

Then onto BV after meeting up with Ethan's friend Lenny. Ethan had to do a gastank shuffle on the XR650 about 300 yards from the gas station in BV.

    Supplies for the night:

Went up to just past Cottonwood Lake
    [IMG]

Camped on the bank of the river with the bikes hanging out on a dry spot of riverbead.

Saw a plane doing acrobatics overhead the next morning:

Instead of heading home we decided to try Tincup Pass. None of us had ever done it before. Lenny decided to try it after we heard it was easy™ from some riders at the Taylor Park Trading Post coming from the KTM rally in Crested Butte.

    Came over Cottonwood Pass:

Mirror Lake going up Tincup Pass
    [IMG]

Just past Mirror Lake Tincup became a little harder. Lenny had a lowered and heavily loaded down KLR 650. He was down to give it a few tries though:

After a few falls and getting a bit further he turned around. The casualties on his bike was some ruptured beers, a kickstand spring that flew free, and a cracked fairing. Ethan and I pressed on.

Coming up the North side of Tincup:

Ethan got some air coming down the South side of the pass.

And the helmet cam ran out of batteries finally (didn't bring the right cable to charge it):

After that it was a run to Salida to lunch with friends and then we had to blast home due on 285 due to familial requirements on Ethan's end. We hit the Kenosha/Sunday creeping traffic in Jefferson and again outside of Bailey.

Yea, but still a good trip report regardless. Guess I should sub there as well so I don't miss these posts before you or Sean move them.
