    Good morning to all,

2 months ago, I got a super deal on a new 2015 Dbl Cab TRD. I'm very happy with my purchase. Traded my 2006 dbl cab SR5 for this one. Since I baught the 2015, I've notice a weird noise that was not on my 2006. I've been to the dealer twice with it but they can't seem to find anything wrong. The problem is I hear a clunk on the back end when I pass on a speed bump, wiggle the truck from side to side and even when I back out of the garage(2 inch lip to the pavement). They check all the bolts, spare tire, etc. They are telling me that now there is a space in the bushings that hold the leaf springs and that when the truck goes side to side or hit a bump, it will make the clunk noise. Do any of yours make this clunk? If so, I will know that it's normal and just forget about it. What do you guys think? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it's from the back? Might be the sway bar hitting the coil.

Looks like that. When I wiggle the box or the back tires, I can even feel it on top of hearing it. I told the dealer it was the back and they might not havechecked anything else. When I go in the box and wiggle it side to side, I can also feel it. I might just be paranoid but it does not seem normal.

Could try a different dealer, if all else fails just leave it be. Probably won't hurt anything. I get worried when my truck stops making the weird noises.

Is the spare tire pulled up tight?

I lowered the spare tire almost to the ground and pulled it back up. Tried to move it but was snug. I saw a chain up there. Could it be something else up near the spare tire making this noise?

The sound is like if you have a triler hitch (with no load on it) that goes up and down. Almost the same.

How fast are you hitting these bumps? Both my 07 and now my 15 have clunky ass rear ends. I can hit speed bumps pretty quickly up front, but have to slow way down for the rear to not thump. On the 07 it was worse with sr5 suspension. Still hearing it on my 15 TRD makes me think it's just part of the truck. Only happens to me if I go too fast over speed bumps, never seems to be a problem on dirt or gravel though...

clunk? you guys might be experiencing axle wrap, might want to grease up driveshaft and u joints and go from there. i bought my truck few weeks ago and my U-joints where surprisingly dry. havent got around to do the driveshaft. I lifted the truck and installed AAL pack and its hardly noticeable

Happens to me in the mornings when I'm backing out of my driveway, and then when I shift into D and take my foot off the brake.

I'm new to all of this. Is there a write-up or what grease to use?

(Go easy on me. I've been playing with FWD for my entire life)

Theres tons of threads and write ups explaining axle wrap or driveline clunk. If you just purchased your truck and havent messed with the suspension Id take it to the dealer and have them service the driveline. Maybe take them on a test drive as well since its still under warranty

Mine does it what the truck is not running. Just by shaking the box or tire side to side. They are still saying that it's the gap in the bushings that hold the leaf springs. They are saying that they now have a gap to prevent squeaking. Never had this on my 06. If it's normal, it's normal but will have to get used to it I guess if it is. Will bring it to another dealer when I get a chance

I get a small "Clunk" when rolling slowly over bumps as well. I wouldn't worry about it

Yeah, I've been hearing a clunk on bumps, too. Haven't gotten as far as everyone here has on diagnosing it. I'll be sure check it out further while keeping what all you have mentioned in mind.
