I understand that the potential is there for silver to drop down to $11, and chance it could drop more before it cycles up again. Which is why I asked if there are things I should think/rethink. That is also why I haven't purchased any yet. I am somewhat smart enough to watch it for a little bit as it drops. As I said, I am not against buying others, it would just be in small amounts as I save up enough $.
Also, I am not looking at buying one day and selling the next. The freak out factor isnt very high with me. More along the lines of having something in hand instead of having a number on a piece of paper from the bank saying that is how much money they owe me. Maybe the market will fluctuate enough to provide the opportunity to diversify more. However, at this point, building a long term investment has some potential in my mind.

That what's so nice about silver is, it is a small bet for a great asset....
Just an oz here and there is a great way to start..... That's how I started, a little at a time....
Just with any investment you should do small amounts at a time and the more you understand the trade you can adjust from there...

Silver won't gain any traction until it crosses $15.00-15.25 and until such time it will be dead money. You can quote me on that. These other silver bugs don't have a clue on how to invest and trade in silver. Numismatic coins maybe, but definitely not the commodity. While I can appreciate your desire to have an investment that is electronic proof so to speak you'd really have to swing the needle to physical and hard assets that it will be nearly impossible to insure yourself against that risk.

Today is a perfect example of all the BS that goes on in this thread. All this talk of doom and gloom and the mounting US debt and slow economy, panicked fed blah blah blah and when the market corrects silver darts lower. Every single silver investor is losing money this year and if they say otherwise they are lying. As for a hedge it's horrible as silver is performing worse than the S&P 500 this year.

Your best bet is to wait until silver bottoms. It has yet to see any reasonable support here at these levels. Your first indication would be for it to regain the 50 DMA before even considering an investment. I always recommend bullion as an investment. There's no harm in waiting and missing a small upswing before it starts to turn bullish again.

You are perfectly right... I believe citi bank is the most at risk, but no one knows for sure..... But at 0% it's not worth taking all the risk...
So having assets out side of the digital world is call diversification, and that is good..... and PMs are a great and affordable way to protect your self...
Just remember it could be a long term trade, so only invest what you're will to hold long term...

This is nonsense. How much assets do you have outside of the digital world? 5%? 2%? that's not going to do you a whole lot of good when the computers go dark now is it?

How is calling you out on all your BS trolling? You come in here everyday and pound the table on silver and any sucker who has taken your advice is poorer for it.
You can't even answer any direct questions, when cornered you post pictures of silver coins. Perfect, yeah that makes sense....

Are 0% rates good? Not exactly. Can an nation expand it's GDP in a low interest rate environment? Yes. Has the US expanded it's economy? Yes. Will we raise rates? Yes.

Has anyone made any money in Silver this year? Nope

I'll stand by and wait for you to post a new picture of a coin for me.

So again why are you here bothering people, to distract............. Go start your own thread or add something positive.....

I've bought and sold more PMs than you could imagine. I buy my silver in 200 oz bars and have them stored and held in safekeeping because I can afford it and don't want the hassle of paying for additional shipping. I buy PMs to make money, plain and simple. When was the last time you could afford several dozen 200 oz. bars?

then why are you trolling? just for fun? because this info should help you also...

But we are not buying silver to make stuff, we are buying for investment so we are buying coins....
I already made lots of wrong choices with silver so I'm trying to point people the right direction if you are buying silver....
And yes if I sell right now I would have made money in silver this year, but I'm still buying not selling....

Did you read all my posts? Hardly called trolling. I advised someone to wait until silver improved before buying, no reason to rush in and catch a falling knife.

if you understood investing, stock trading and monetary policy you would know that none of these things have anything to do with how silver is being traded at the moment.

I'll say this again for shr133's benefit. If you're wondering when the price of silver will start to appreciate track the ticker SLV, when it can regain the $15/15.25 level it will become bullish. It's first hurdle will be to cross the 50 DMA of course. Until such time it will remain bearish. And I'll explain this in case you're about to misconstrue my advice. I'm not advocating the purchase of silver in an ETF, I'm saying this is the easiest way to track the price movement in silver.
