Tan would look good on both i think. Don't think the red would look good on the tacoma

I think that would be rad, that Tan to my eye is pretty damn close to the tacoma gold, its just flat so i think its already a color that looks good on a tacoma.

    i dig these two also.

Don't match em. They are each their own personalities.

Leave them both stock colored as you bought them. Especially the tacoma..cause it'll be slightly ironic. and stock tan on the 81 will just be awesome.

Just a heads up but one of the biggest/most common places for rust on those is in the corners of the floor where it meets the firewall. Might want to pull the carpet up to check. But judging by how good the bed looks (another big issue with these years) I doubt yours will be bad. I could stick my hand through mine lol

Bob Saget. You're probably right. AGAIN.

Thanks for the links, a salvage will likely be the route I go once I need a tow rig.

Good to know, I'll check that first thing tomorrow. I pulled the plastic bed liner today and the holes in the bed floor look pretty bad. Nothing a welder can't fix haha. :anonymous:

Good call man. Unfortunately, you were spot on. You couldn't tell from the underside because the sound dampening material was holding it together.

The bed isn't bad at all in comparison. :anonymous: Here's the worst of it. They are individual panels, so it should make relatively easy to replace.

And what the hell is this button for?? I can't find it anywhere in the owner's manual.

The rear cab mounts are fine. Oddly enough, the frame looks great with the exception of some hack job patch at the passenger side leaf spring hanger, where I expected to find holes if any.

That'd be my guess too. My 76 c10 has one similar looking and when it's cold you either gotta pull it or pump the gas to start

Daaaaaammmnnn! And I thought mine was bad.. It's not a terrible fix but the body mount being there complicates things a little because of the folded bracket on the underside. The bed is pretty much the norm for these year trucks. The more of these I see the more I realize what a cherry my old 82 was... and I cut it up and beat the shit out of it
