I am anxious to see if my dealer holds to their signature on my buyers order as well...That's why I put my deal in my sig...to let people know what is possible...not probable, until I take delivery for the price stated. Another member tried to get my deal at my dealership and was turned away...

Aside from the annoying VW news the last couple of days, the dealers here in the Bay Area are basically sticking to MSRP. That said, I'm getting the truck setup I want for basically MSRP. I'm fine with it. I was going to sell the VW, but, well... yeah.

I am done with the VW and look forward to the Tacoma. I want it *now* (mine arrives this weekend). I'm ok paying a bit more to have the dealership actually put the order in and get me what I want sooner than later.

    It's all personal calculus.

Don't walk in , use the phone or email - and if the dealer has an internet or e-sales person go to them. Like fleet, their job is to move vehicles and keep the sales 'velocity' up so the dealership can get more and better allocations every month and grow.

Exactly, never walk in looking to cut a deal. Phone, email or both, work them all within the same dealership if you can!

^^^ This. I always tell them I have to work until 7, get there at 8 and need to be home by 10, they have 1 hour to execute or I simply have to leave. Amazing how fast fleet/e-sales can get you in and out of the facility IF you set the rules in advance.

Marketing fees charged to the dealership by the factory - similar to TAF and TDA sometimes seen on the invoices. Sometimes they get this back, but it can vary based on hitting their sales quotas, etc. I've gotten one Toyota dealer to go back of this charge, but it took speaking to 5 other fleet managers first...

Yes sir. called Costco, they contacted the dealer with my lead info. Dealer called me 1 hr later, and said they would do for $250 UNDER invoice. Pretty straight forward

Weird... I went to the costco site, input what i was looking for and it told me that the vehicle I selected doesn't currently have prearranged pricing and would not locate a dealer for me.

Maybe it is because the Southeast doesn't have inventory yet.

I checked out the US costco auto purchasing site and it looks like an awesome way to buy a vehicle (and almost makes membership worth while!). Then I checked out the canadian Costco auto purchasing site. I'm not sure why they wasted money on the domain name.

Go ahead and tell them that the shipping quote is illegal. If that is the destination charge, it's 900 or it's fraud. Also, tell them to effoff with that Dealer Fee. Or ask them for a break down of what it is

The dealer fee is essentially the profit the dealer makes from the sale, aside from holdback and anything over invoice. Since I am getting the truck at basically invoice pricing I have 0 beefs with the $500 dealer fee, as that is how they are able to move vehicles at lower prices than anyone in the region. I bought from Mountain States Toyota in Denver. The destination fee is part of that $35,877 price for the truck and the $600 transport fee is what their vendor charges them or quoted them to flatbed the truck to me in Albuquerque.
