Had a great weekend. I recently picked up a girlfriend. She comes with a wiener dog named Stevie :). We decided to head out to snowy and romp on some back roads and do a lil fishing. The fishing was poor but it was a great time regardless.

So, let me get this right? A good looking Catahoula, a good looking truck, a good looking woman and all of this in the great state of Wyoming. I'm hoping you say your prayers at night and thank the good lord for being a lucky SOB.

Ash is a good looking fella, he's growing up quick. Keep the pictures coming bud.

I am very lucky to have the things I have, live where I do, and have awesome people in my life. Sadly I will probably be leaving Wyoming in a few years to find work when I finally graduate.

It's been quite awhile since I've been down that road, beautiful to be sure.

Have you ever met Ron Beiswenger (spelling might be a little off), retired UW faculty? He was, and may still be, working on the Wyoming Toad recovery program and maybe even instrumental in getting the toad listed. He's on my favorite faculty to work with list - besides being a real nice human. On the North side of the A&S building there is a sculpture placed to honor him - has a great quote by him.

I have! Great guy and he told me about the older days of the Wyoming toad. Running up and down dirt roads with the windows down listening for their mating calls.

I moved to WY 45 yrs ago and spent 18 in Laramie, a year in Cheyenne and the rest real close to Curt Goudy SP. Still consider Laramie as my home.

Most of those years I worked as a mechanical designer, test engineer on a spacecraft instrument to measure aerosols in the upper atmosphere (physics dept) and later as the shop supervisor, mechanical designer and, machinist in the A&S Div of Research Support. The focus of which was building all sorts of electro/mechanical devices for a wide variety of research projects. Really interesting work, I didn't do a whole lot for Ron; more for his wife Jane - she was the Biology lab coordinator and every summer she would bring a cart full of lab equip to be repaired. No budget for upgrades or new.

Correct and thanks! Ash has some other breed in the line to most likely have the long hair that he does. The parents however were very much catahoula in looks. He is the only one in the litter to have the long hair and that is usually what people often like about him.

A rancher breeds them for working dogs in a small town in colorado. They are more popular in the south for hunting hogs.

Ya saw that when read up on them a little bit. Seems like they are good dogs, wonder if there are generally expensive. Probably just depends.

I am sure when you get down south there are some lines that are more "pure" and proven for something like hunting. I only see them as ranch/farm dogs out west and never seen them costing much at all. Ash was $350 I think and he was the most expensive due to his colors and eyes.
