Post your TDA fees and location

Just wondering what everyone else is paying for TDA. My dealing started with about $450 and then they changed it to $600. Seems kind of shady. Anyways, what is everyone else paying in your area?

 

My dealer is charging me $552 TDA. After saying I don't want to pay it, he informed me that every Toyota dealer gets charged it and there's absolutely nothing you can do to change it or avoid it.

 

They are lying to you. Tell them lying is wrong.

 

Any Toyota dealer can charge you 0 dollars for TDA. This money does not go to Toyota. It stays at the dealership

 

How should I bring this up to the salesman?

 

I'm having the same problem. I'm negotiating on an allocated but not yet delivered MGM Limited 4x4. I thought I had a good thing going with the given price of $200 over invoice. I pushed him hard to send his pricing in writing, and now I know why. He sent the following to me a few hours ago.

What the crap...a $746 TDA fee??? That is ridiculous. Do I throw this deal away for the only vehicle in the state (PA) equipped as I want it? Essentially, it is a $946 over invoice price with this stupid fee. I'm frustrated with the sneaky additional charge, but I guess it is still a good deal. What do you all think?

 

I offered $500 above Invoice and consider it a great deal....I have never seen that fee in the south east, You have a tough call to make.....Would you throw the deal for $500? I am not sure I would on a $38K price. I would on a $30K price though.

 

I see online that nearly all SE distributor dealers have a "dealer fee" in their pricing. Here is a sample I just pulled up for a DCSB 4x2 sport model in Florida:

TDA is a common fee that's not so well known until you see it for the first time on the invoice and say wtf.. Some people say they've been able to negotiate it out, but on a brand new model I'd be suprised. $746 is the highest i've seen $525ish is the lowest. Let us know if you're able to get them to lower or drop it.

Nice. It's hard to believe the TDA can swing 300 dollars based on location. That's a bullshit charge that really annoys me.

 

I've asked my dealer to remove...we'll see what happens.

Having the same issue here in Midwest. Turns out the $500 over invoice I negotiated 2 months ago now adds an additional $200 in doc fee and $700 in TDA fee now that the truck is in. They claim the TDA fee is part of the invoice price. Seems the TDA fee is non negotiable but I've never seen it on an invoice price before.

 

To combat the TDA fee, print out a few Pricing Sheets from here and show them to your salesman.

"These dealerships don't charge TDA fees, why are you telling me it's part of the invoice price when it certainly is not?" Add to it, "There is a document fee here and taxes included. NO TDA charge. Why are you lying to me? Why are you defrauding me?"

I've seen the Destination, TDA, and gasoline on the majority of invoice pricing I've seen. Then they add TTL and doc fee's on top. I'm in NY so the max Doc fee is $75.00. If they wack me $725 for TDA I'm going to be pissed.
