Today was about 80 degrees so I went for about a 15 or 20 minute drive and then used the infared thermometer measured the top flange inside the wheelwell, 237 was the hottest spot so I would shoot for rubber that is resistant to temps higher than that.

I haven't seen any rubber higher than 225 deg but you can get Mil spec silicone sheets that will.

Maybe that is why Toyota leaves that upper section uncovered then, they probably don't wanna spend the money for high temp resistant rubber.

I run the 1/16" rubber and I checked it everyday for the first week. Everything looked good. No signs of heat damage. I've been running the same setup of my F150 for over a year from 32 degree up to 100 degree weather and they look just fine. Its ultimately your decision what you want to use.

I didn't buy the template, but I cut a bunch of cardboard and taped them together to make a Frankenstein template, but it worked. I really liked this idea especially since my old ones were ripped, hanging and the clips weren't holding from removing/installing during various jobs. Thanks for the idea @Notch46

Btw I ordered a 36x36 but I feel like it should have been a bit wider for more coverage. My original template was about 4-5" longer than my 36x36 sheet of rubber.

Had mine on for 5 days with no problems.

Using the 1/16th with new clips.

Used a small piece of 3mm double sided tape on the little flap that hangs loose. Works like a charm.

Found it! My bad, wifey handed me a pile of mail and it fell between passenger seat and console.
