Funny you say that, because my brother in law is also going to be buying a Tacoma and when I mentioned this to the salesman he didn't even bat an eye. I'm in sales, and I personally would have been all over that. I think they can literally give a shit about anyone who walks in wanting a Tacoma, as the demand is clearly more than the supply. But if I get them down, I'll post the deal here with the salesman's name.

Tustin dealer is on ignore mode. The only dealer willing to even entertain me via e-mail is Toyota of Carlsbad. But he wanted me to call him instead, and thats when I declined

There might be something to that. I gave another member my dealership's Internet manager and number to see if he could get the $500 over invoice deal they are giving me. I even told my guy he was going to call...... He said they turned him down. So he is continuing to buy his from the first dealership we both received invoice numbers from.

Can someone enlighten me on how to obtain a preapproval from a credit union? I need to join a credit union and request an autoloan preapproval? How long is the preapproval good for and how long does it take to get preapproved? Just factoring in the time when I got to the dealer to negotiate financing.

Michaels in Bellevue. Nothing concrete, but they sure did contact me quickly after I sent the email. The specific truck has a delivery estimate of end of Oct.- early Nov. I haven't sat down and talked specifics, but I made it clear I would only pay invoice. Very tempting, but the chief financial officer would be insanely pissed if I went out and bought it right now....just need to save up a few more pennies.:ballchain:

Just apply for a pre approved Auto loan. They will know what to do.

MSRP for Limited 4X4 with predator steps, mudguards, towing, tonneau cover, and destination for Gulf States was 40,709. With $249.00 doc fee I was quoted 39,958.00 OTD.

No. The dealers do not collect that in Oklahoma. It's 3.25% at the tag office.

I'm new to the forum and am trying to buy my first Tacoma. I'm from Southern California and it seems like the dealerships in this area are firm at msrp or above. I've gone to Miller Toyota, Elmore toyota, and Toyota Huntington Beach. I'm looking for a TRD sport 4x4 prem/tech w/jbl in Barcelona red. Anyone in SoCal have any luck getting near invoice or even below msrp?

Maybe, depends on options. What is MSRP? I still cannot (and probably wont') get over the prices on the 2016s. I could have picked the same truck in 2013 or 2014 for $5k less. Granted that was 2 years ago but is this truck really worth and extra $5k?

Demand is too high here. Start emailing other dealerships. There are a lot more than 3 in this area

Typically MSRP out the door. Some people don't understand OTD means everything; including tax
