I need straight up, 100% water tight. Might be carrying luggage or valuables back there.

The gap I saw was when pulling up on the last section of the cover near the tailgate in the locked position.

Is it adjustable to close that gap? Would be pretty shitty if it wasn't?

With the tailgate unlocked, it appears the front driver side had a 1/4 inch gap. I didn't look to see if the cover was adjustable.

I can tell you now not to buy anything with Velcro on it. With the exception of one of their products which uses moisture cured polyurethane adhesive, all of the rest of the products on the market use hot melt glues. You put any force/load on your cover and that Velcro will slide off the cover.

in the 3 yrs we have had our access original roll up cover, the Velcro on the side have had no issues. granted its not water tight but it does the job quite well for what we need.

and we never put any load on the cover when its closed up.

On my second velcro cover and would never use anything but. I can tell you that if you live in an area that gets winter weather and you have a roll-up, you need velcro. I have never seen a cover that is water tight. you can get close by putting gaskets in the tailgate section but it will never be 100%. I have a flexible roof container that I put my luggage in when I travel just to be safe.

I'm not too sure on the reviews of whatever brand this is. The new ones for the 2016s look pretty slick though.

...or whatever comes closest. I've seen some systems with drainage devices and the like as well.

Any actual owners able to give a good, thorough review of the new Tonneau cover? In particular, verification if it can be opened from the front section only, water-tightness, and ease of removal for full bed use?

I own one. I'm not going to give a good thorough review though. At work. haha It works well. The seal sucks. I'm sure there is a way to adjust it by either lowering the brackets or trimming lock brackets. Toyota should definitely fix this though. Gasket may be replaceable for larger mold. I personally don't care about water tightness. As long as I can lock some valuables in if I have to. It does work fine for that. I have removed it. It is heavy though. It flips back so you can use 2/3s of it without complete removal. It actually feels fairly heavy duty. I set my beer can on it and it didn't even bend :broccoli:

I am getting the cover for 2 reasons, The price is comparable to the others out there and now that the tailgate locks. If it gets broke into, now insurance will cover it. Before, they wouldn't.
