When I do my BHLM on my 2014, I want to somehow fit a red reflector over the turn signal port. I want the turn signal to be red, but I want to run a clear bulb because they are easier to get.
Anyway, have any of y'all done something like this?? Is it even going to be possible??
My plan was to get some flat red reflector material(maybe some old tail light lenses) and cut to fit the hole and then maybe epoxy it in place.
    What y'all think??

Be careful having any kind of red light on the front of the vehicle. Supposed to be reserved for emergency vehicles.

Yeah, I know. I've had red bulbs in the turn signals for about 8 months and haven't had any problems, but as soon as I change to a more permanent solution, I'll probably get pulled. :frusty:

This, and also doesn't red indicate you're behind a vehicle? I'm afraid of a head-on collision when it's dark.

I wouldn't do it. Amber turn signals are much safer in all scenarios, even in back. People are more likely to notice Amber than red since red normally signals brakes.

It's your decision, you asked us what we think. So far none of us have supported that idea so sorry we can't help you. And yes, even with "the big'ol headlights right beside them" they'll confuse oncoming vehicles. You might come across someone high or drunk enough to think they're behind you when they drive right into you.

Up to you if you want to do this..... take out the lens and use vht tail light paint over them, then install.

But I agree that you shouldnt do this, but its not my truck and not my call. But a fixit ticket that means you have to take your headlights apart and buy new lenses for the turns is much more expensive than just swapping out bulbs.
