    they will FIT persay but the wiring harness is a bit different

    you may be able to make them work

    Yeah, you can bolt them up, but like what tigerfan said, the wiring is a bit different, will probably need to fiddle with them to make it work properly.

    its gonna require adding a jumper for a ground

    it LOOKS simple enough but i have a set of carbon fiber taillights in my closet that disagrees with me

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    The grounding scheme changed in 2001. 2001-2004 tails will work in 2000 and earlier Tacos, but not the other way around.

    Whether you can mod the 98-00 tails to work and how much hassle it would be will depend on the exact units you're trying to install. Some don't work at all without massive surgery.

    The simplest fix is to swap the aftermarket lenses onto the OEM 'pods' (if that keeps whatever looks you're going for).

    after the frustration i had attempting to convert my wiring...i gave up...its not worth the time and effort

    Whatevs. Found another pair that will fit my taco with no modifications. I'm 16 so I don't have the time or knowledge do start tinkering with electircal stuff.

    You're 16 and you don't have time? Surely you must be kidding. Try being 40 having a kid and a job to worry about, then you'll know what "have no time" means.
