I have been pretty demanding with them regarding information. I feel like a 1k deposit buys me a weekly update. I went in and almost pulled my deposit, but they have me working with someone else now. I think there was a little telling me what I wanted to hear, but also was pretty honest about a lot. I don't really have to bug him like the last guy, as he texts me anytime hr has info, or at least weekly to say no new info.

But warm and fuzzys aside I want my damn truck.

You are a customer once you put down a deposit. They have your money, you deserve an update anytime
you want one, if you can't get a simple email reply I'd choose another place to deal with. I ask the dealer a
question, anytime I have one, if I don't get a reply in a day or 2, I call, if it went unanswered for a week or
more, I'd pull my deposit and work with another dealer. I look at it just like that; they have pretty much a
guaranteed sale, if they want to lose that over not taking 20 seconds to reply then so be it.

Exactly why I went in to refund it. But now I haven't waiting more than an hour or two for a reply.

Almost makes me want to go back into sales, it's pretty basic to take care of someone. But when I pull into the lot, I see the vultures sitting in a glf cart on their phones. And after talking to them they're clearly not on forums learning about their products and customers.

Another side of the coin is the dealers that call/email incessantly with bullshit you aren't looking for. I gave very specific info on what I was looking for, just to have one dealer turn around and spam my email with build sheets for trucks of the wrong color, not 4x4, wrong model, and even fucking 4runners. Told that dealer to GTFO.

Completely agree! Dealers can be a complete p.i.t.a. You're right, it's pretty easy to shoot off
a simple reply and put the customer at-ease.

This is the 1st time I've done the pre-order thing and I let them know that
up front and that I'd have many questions and if they didn't get answered prepare
    to refund the deposit.

TMF = Toyota Marketing Fee or in other words "Advertisement"

All of these, you can get cut in half or taken completely off of the price, however with it being a brand new vehicle most dealers wont budge on these.

When I was at Malone Saturday morning, we pulled in and there were 10 (I counted) of them standing around the golf car under that umbrella. Drove around the backside and parked by the hidden '16's. Went inside later and ended up talking to a part-time guy in the scion section. Didn't know a whole lot, but was nice and not pushy. Tried to look up when the next ones were coming in.

You mean that all you have to do is tell the dealer to mark the order "ASAP" and it will be built and arrive sooner?

lol talked to my order person today. know what he said, call/text/comeby any time if you want an update on the status of your truck. don't feel like its an inconvience to me.

and that's another reason I have bought 6 cars from them in the last 2 years. customer service before and after the sale by everyone up and down the chain and honesty with the whole process :)

and the 2016 Tacoma will be #7 in 2 years.

TMF!? lol, ask them 'what marketing'? So far the only reason I've seen adds, pics, pricing & specs is because of YOU fine people, not Toyota. Website's not even up yet. Then again, I supposed someone has to pay Bigfoot for his cameo's in those amusing youtube vids... ;)

I've always been able to have them remove their "inventory fee/tax" - it's popular here in Texas. They get taxed quarterly on the vehicles on the lot, and pass that on to the customer. It's one of those fees you don't have to pay. Too many people do.

You got a good deal. Looks like you paid just about invoice for it. Grats on your purchase.

So does anyone have any new scuttlebutt regarding the "stop sell/delays". Nothing new of substance lately. My dealer is in the dark still.
