Sounds just like my 2010 4Runner. The throttle is lazy for fuel economy's sake. The relationship between pedal position isn't linear to throttle position. Get into the pedal, though, and it moves way better than a 4600lb V6 SUV should.

Leather is not leather anymore. Its vinyl coated crap. I prefer to get some Wet Oakleys or real leather seat covers. Only the seat faces are vinyl coated leather anymore. The bolsters and seat backs are vinyl. Not worth the extra money, These are not Maybachs..Personally I prefer to spend my option money on good tech and the Sub woofer.

Yup. Pretty much nailed it. The only thing is Honda engines power cars, their Ridgeline was gutless POS that nobody wanted to buy at the end...
Doing the same thing and expecting different results is clear sign on insanity.

ECT button is for (Tow mode) So if you need to use it when truck is empty... What button you are going to push if you actually tow something?

ECT button will keep lower gears running longer, that also means it will make that truck burn fuel like a M1A2 Abrams tank on its way to Baghdad. My aswell roll those dollar bills and toss them through the window ...

Not until Toyota puts some real engine in it. Like 4runners have. V8 or at minimum Dual Vvti 1GR.

I am sure this 3.5 L is great for every 90 years old grandpa to make Sunday runs to church .. or menopausal women suddenly interested in cats and vegetables because husband left them.

Diesel would be ideal. Crap load of Torque is what you need while towing.
I need something that can handle my Land Cruiser with a trailer. 1GR does handle well with low end Torque and thats with 3.73 gears. So something comparable or better would be nice.

Amen to that. That's what I told my sales guy. These prices are insane for the lack of simple common amenities. I mean this is knocking on 1794 5.7l Tundra territory.

Hey there BlueT, I hope you enjoyed you vacation! I know I sure did. You know that no one here wants to here your opinion and all you are doing is here is making yourself look like an immature dip shit. Do you even have a drivers license? I bet you are 12 years old and get picked on a lot on the middle school play ground. You are not going to change anyone's mind with your childish banter, certainly not Toyota's.

    Go buy a 4runner
Go buy a diesel Colorado or Titan XD
Go swap a V8 into your 2nd gen
Go suck start a shot gun if you want
    Just fucking GO somewhere.

What about a 5.7 Tundra. All 4 wheel disc, really nice interior and isn't completely gutless. Thoughts?

It's a great option for the money. Only drawing back is that there are a lot of people who just don't want to drive a full size (myself included) and others who cannot swallow the fuel economy. Tundras are good trucks in my opinion, I'd buy one if I needed that much truck.

I will agree that the pricing on the new Tacoma's is steep. I will very likely end up with one because I have had such a good run with the 05 I bought new and the 2000 before that however I am going to wait a few years and see if other makes can drive the market down some and let Toyota work out any bugs. I have no real reason the buy a new truck at this point anyway, my 05 is still in perfect condition with 120K miles so I have time to let the hype dye down and other offerings force Toyota to price and option competitively.

If that's black vinyl between the windows, I see the Ram pillar mod being popular on the 2016 Tacoma.

Your welcome, but I only posted to comment on Honda like engine. And I believe that's where thread went south before I even posted

. Its all those apologists probably hired by Toyota... Their vigor of defending this garbage can be only compared to Putins troll factories... :broccoli: Notice how that thread was all nice until somebody compared new engine to Honda... than baam sudenly apologists all jumping in.
    Anyway
I get it you have craving for new truck, but if you going to tow with it I would look at something capable of towing with more low end torque. Last thing you want is to shell out $40 grand on gutless vehicle.
I have another Toyota with 5.7L V8 and that thing is rocket... Its just too big.
