I've been waiting to see one in person for months now and just happend to go by the dealership when they were unloading the truck today. Low and behold, they were unloading a 2016 TRD Off Road! This was at Toyota on Nicholasville. They advised me that they were not selling this one and going to use it as a demo for people wanting to order.

Talking to the dealer, I also found out that there is a salesman education event going on today and tomorrow at Mega Cavern on the new Tacoma. For those of you not familiar with the area, Mega Cavern is what it sounds like; a huge cave in Louisville that is big enough to host BMX events inside and drive multiple cars through. I asked if I come to said event, but was not invited to the fun. Had to ask...who wouldn't want to drive the Tacoma off road through a massive cave?!?!

That's where I bought my truck. I'm not in the market, but the next time I drive by there I'll have to stop and check it out.

I'm originally from KY, right outside of Lex. Growing up we always went through the Southern Lights and Lights Under Louisville. LUL was awesome, because we were driving through a cave. I can't imagine what it would be like to drive the Tacoma through there!

Sorry to hijack the thread....sweet looking truck. No a big fan of Nicholasville Toyota, but I love Frankfort Toyota (formerly Glenn).

How was your expirience with them @Yotabilly ? I am thinking about buying mine from them even though I live about an hour away from there because they have been pretty easy to work with so far.

Thanks @ICTMGMTacoma. Is there some reason why you like Glenn over Nicholasville. I'm trying to decide where to buy and am willing to drive for the right deal, so any insight would be appreciated.

I can recommend Glenn Toyota. Bought "Certified Used" there in Oct '12. Nice folks, haven't dealt there since but no issues. Willie Willard in sales hooked me up.

Being originally from Harrodsburg, Nicholasville was just up 68 for me, very convenient, but I went there once for an oil change and they were very pushy. I could barely get into the waiting room before I had a salesman wanting to get me out of my Matrix and into a new car. Being a college student at that time, I was not interested. Then my family started to go to Glenn for everything.

Now living in KS, a couple years ago I finally sold my Matrix and bought a new Camry from Glenn. Elvis Davis (yes that's his name haha) the new car sales manager hooked me up. I sent him the price I wanted, down payment I was willing to put down, and he even took care of all the Kansas papework for me. I went home visited my parents, picked up my Camry, and drove it back to KS. Upon getting back to KS, the paperwork was waiting for me at the Tag office.

For me it's all about customer service. Not only do they help you out throughout the sale, but they stay with you throughout the time you own a car you bought from them.

My family has bought quite a few cars from Elvis. Good guy and good dealership. Feel free to PM me if you want additional info!

Great endorsement @ICTMGMTacoma. I've got family in Frankfort, so Glenn would be super convenient. I'll give Elvis a call!

Just like any other stealership. To be fair, they're all the same. They'll take you for everything they can. I had my price before I stepped on the lot. I called back and forth between Green's and TON until I had then both pissed off and their real lowest price.

I'm sitting in my office at the moment......Which is located ABOVE ground, with the Mega Cavern's directly UNDERNEETH me! Cool place! It was originally a limestone mine for a paving contractor. During the '60's it was a "Civil Defense" bomb shelter. The city of Louisville uses part of it to store their supplies of road salt.

I live across the street from Frankfort Toyota (formerly Glenn) and have purchased a few vehicles from them. Last one being my 2011 access cab which I bought new in June 11. Just ask for "Skeet", she will take good care of you.
