One can never have too many light bars.

I agree with you it sucks. But the OP is making an effort to see that his pup goes to a good home and will hopefully keep him out of a shelter. I can get behind that.

The policies were read before we rented the house. I really wish I had enough money to just buy a home. the market in San Jose are just too high for me right now. I am working on that but no where close to getting one anytime soon. If I do rent out a new spot it would be a lot more than what I am paying now for a smaller place with no backyard.
HOA was cool with it, It was my landlord. I spoke with him numerous times telling him i was considering getting a new dog. He said that was fine. And I was responsible for any damages caused to the house.
Long story short. I got the pup. He came by to let us know about our new washer+dryer coming in, and instantly said sorry but I can't have a pit bull in this household. We talked more as I was telling him I am going to put him in training, showed him brochures to show how serious I wass. And if it would be ok if he stayed in the garage or in the backyard. Just trying to negotiate as much as I can..
For sure I dont want a shelter for him of course.
It's all good I truly understand your point. I am looking for a loving home. I met some TW guys over the weekend who've seen the pup and they were really cool people. So I just thought I'd give this a shot rather than Craigslist..

That sucks that he walked back on his word like that. You sound like a decent guy who would prefer to keep his pup. I was in a similar situation when we got our German Sheperd pup last year. Landlord wanted him gone.
I had been living there for 3 years at that time. I got to stay with my dog but with renter's insurance and increased security deposit. I've heard of extra pet rent even down here...
    Have you considered that?

Thank you. I do want to keep the pup, as short of a time I have owned him he grew on to me and I love the little f**ker. My fiance cant stop crying thinking all these negative things about him growing up to be bad. Reason why I am doing my best to talk to and discuss everything with new potential owners. One of my buddies wanted him, but this guy cant even keep his car clean or mow his damn lawn. So giving him the responsibility to take care of the pup was an obvious no for me,
    I do have renters insurance.
And I have also talk to him about giving him more on a monthly to keep the pup. But I am sure because of the breed I chose It was a no go.
He is a middle eastern fella who doesn't have the best english.. But I am sure he has seen how media has portrayed this breed to be dangerous and killers.

One more question, how is he with other dogs?
I have a big yard (i own) and have another 11 year old pit that i have had since he was a few months old.

He is calm with other dogs when it is a face to face interaction..the usual butt sniffing then part ways.. but I have never take him to a dog park yet. As I was planning to get him trained so he can potentially have fun off leash.
He is a young pup. Has a lot to learn. Takes training very well. Disciplines well too. Train rewards were always ++ for him, as he was eager to learn.

Mark - Sorry to hear pup has to go.
Here to confirm that the dog was a big hit at the stops on the lost coast thing.
Good luck with finding him the perfect home.

I'm putting in work with the lady about it, her initial reaction was pretty quickly no... just got home from work we've been talking about it for a bit now, she's pretty stuck on her senior shelter dog so we'll see...

She's also worried about size, do you know how big his folks are?
She sees blue/brindle and thinks of "dozer" my buddy's 90 pound behemoth...

His dad was a brindle and mom was a blue I have only seen 1 picture of them. They didn't look to big. He is 12 weeks at 25lbs the vet said that was about right for his age. As of right now he is more on the skinny side.. More tall if anything. That's ok I wouldn't want you to take him you were unsure or if your wife wouldn't be happy with him. He is a very good pup. Just has his times where he wants to play all day. But when he does he sleeps all night. Talk to your wife. If she can reconsider let me know!

Good luck in getting him adopted! Pit bulls have a bad rap, but they are some of the most affectionate dogs I have come across. I have a pit /pointer mix and he just wants to cuddle and and stay by my side 24/7.
