Are their any Gen 3 tacomas in SLC, UT? Just to see if the unicorn exists.

The dealer I spoke with in Denver was Mountain States Toyota. I called and asked to speak with someone in Internet Sales and told them I was looking for a 2016 Tacoma for invoice pricing. They didn't even flinch, they just asked what options I wanted and looked at their manifest to see what was coming in. I chose a DCSB TRD OR Inferno with Tech/JBL. They added some weird Dealer Handling fee for $499 (in addition to the normal $900 DPH), but then they offered me an additional $500 off for a "call in discount". All things said and done, I'm saving about $2200 off MSRP for a total of $36,376. I'll pay TTL when I register it back in SLC. They're expecting it to come in sometime next week....fingers crossed!

 

Wow. Buying doesn't get any easier than that. Let's see that truck when it comes in!

 

Got a message from guy at Malone yesterday, said they have a black sport on the lot, unsold if I wanted to drive it. Didn't have time, he hasn't replied today so I'm thinking day off, but I think I'll wait to drive an OR anyway. Might could be there though.

 

So i just txted a guy at Malone to see if they have any to test drive and he said they do not have any to test drive and have not received any yet available for test drive. all have been pre sold. so either your guy or my guy is feeding us some crap.

 

Such a junkshow over there at Malone...

 

We are all just mushrooms .... Maybe my guy just wants to keep me happy after I almost left, knowing I was willing to pay msrp. They had a pre sold OR DCSB in quicksand and when I got there he and another sales guy were taking a spin, offered to let me drive it, but my kid was passed out in her seat in my car, didn't want to open Pandora's box on that one.

 

I think a lot of it is corporate, I feel bad for the good sales guys who have no info on so much. But I will agree, its a lottery anywhere as to the quality of the service, and interoffice communication doesn't seem to be great. High turnover in sales positions would be my guess.

I drive by Larry H Miller everyday and haven't seen one. Last time I asked they said October or November (liars!)

They have a red Double cab sport on the south side next to the collision shop. its on hold to ship to another dealer. but its sitting there.

 

Father had some bad experiences with LHM dealers on the fords he always bought. So I'm predisposed to avoid them like plague, with no personal experiences. But I got my 2011 DCSBORMGM from Mark Miller and was pretty happy with that experience.

Malone, after some issues has been fine lately, as I said earlier, I think a lot is corporate leaving the dealers out in the rain.

I have no personal knowledge of the deal that was agreed to on that quicksand truck. But if it was 'pre-sold' to me and the sales staff was taking it for spins and offering drives to other customers, I'd be pissed...

 

I don't know the particulars of it either...but I agree. I plan on being there with a check and my trade, with its already agreed upon price, as soon as the dealer PDI is done.
