Was his first time out hunting, 14 months old. Looking for grouse and maybe a nice fat doe. He loves being in the woods and is very obedient about staying close to me. Colorado is in the process of implementing a new rule allowing the use of dogs to find injured animals during a hunt. As a bow hunter, this really interests me. I haven't registered for this yet myself but wanted to see how he did during the season.

My dogs run through our 3 acres like they have lost their minds, wide open. They've been running in them since day one so maybe they are used to it. Dogs are generally smarter than people so I don't worry too much. I worry more about snakes and coyotes than sticks.

My vet didn't even offer the cone. They just applied some bitter apple with cotton swabs and that was enough to keep her away

Chased this stray around for miles this morning. Not having any luck finding his owners.

:yay: for you catching him and finding his owners. He looks fat and happy, so he wasn't missing any meals while lost :notsure:

So the original owner said that he ran away about 4 months ago. They never found him and had actually given up already. It seems that somebody's been taking care of him because his teeth are very well kept up and he's in good physical shape. He's also a very well trained dog which she said they didn't do much training with him..

It made me wonder if she was the original owner or not. But once I saw the dog freak out and start crying as soon he saw the owner I knew that was his master.

Adopted this guy Tuesday night to add to our pack. He's a 1-2 year old Bullmastiff mix (I really think Lab). About 75 lbs and the vets at the shelter think fully grown. A total ham - just wants love and to be with the family. Our 8 year old lab loves him and he's integrating great. Only issue so far is he appears to have been handled roughly/beaten in his previous life, so he's a little skittish of sticks/brooms/belts. But he's already improving. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

When you are trying to explain to them that muddy toys shouldn't be in the house. But they give you the look.

Yeah this is one of his favorites, besides his ball and pig. Unfortunately it doesn't squeak anymore. The boy is a toy destroying fool.

Yea, I'm just saying that my dog either gets elk antlers, black kongs, or unstuffed toys now...because if there is stuffing he will remove all of it within minutes.
