get the v6, i had the 4 banger with 5spd in my reg cab and it was just barely ok at 1st, you know, that new truck excitement and the dream of good gas mileage makes it seem great. then you decide your truck is a truck and use it like a truck and it's disappointing. i wasn't stock but only ran 32's, a cap, sliders and front bumper to go along with my OME lift. it was a dawg with anything in the box. and soon as you put any load on it the mileage is not impressive. my 5.0L f150 reg cab 4x4 with 33's a 2inch lift and a cap got the same mileage on the highway.

i assume your ranger has the 4.0 v6, it has tons of power over the taco 4cyl engine. to be honest if you like the ranger and just feel like you need a change my thought is you will find yourself missing the ranger if you go 4cyl.

Thanks for all the replies. I like the Ranger, but it's just a little too small.I want more cab room, but not a full size truck.

The V6 will hold resale value better than the 4cyl. Though either will retain value better than a Ranger or Frontier.

For only $1200 more, absolutely grab that 2015 V6. I love my truck, and it does what I need it to, but it's definitely underpowered.

Can't wait to see the 2016 tailgate caps. The stock ones look beefy. People say they r heavier...but I have my doubts. I think there will be a need

I was thinking the side rail caps looked a little "wavy". Could be they cheapened up the plastic even more.

    I'm on it.

I'm currently in the process of trying to get my friend to buy one. His '07 4Runner is rusting like crazy.

    He'll cave.....oh, he'll cave.

Sorry to hear Sean. But, sounds like it's a positive thing. Hope your daughter gets through things clearly.

Had a 2011 4 cylinder for 6 months, traded it for 2013 V6, very glad I did. Get the V6.
