    Whats the CR on the engine? I have no idea. The lower the CR the more boost you can have.

    Wow same as the V6 tacoma. That's crazy they run that high of a boost.

    Most of the internals are forged. No issues so far on Ford forums.

    The 1GR is pretty over built too because of it's heritage. I'm sure up to 10-12 PSI the engine is fine.

    Thanks! I don't have experience with anything other than stock yet,

    However I have run centerforce on a built 3vz, stock 3vz, and a heavily built 22re that does nothing but 4wd drags. All have been good.

    In other cars I have had mixed results with exedy, but not particularly bad.

    I think based off your experience I will be looking at the spec 3+ clutch. Not that I will make more power but they say ots very durable and that never hurts!

    It almost sounds like you're suggesting I'm built like this:

    I wouldn't know, just know the longer the rod the better the ratio.. except if the pistons diameter is too small, then you could have 10,000 rpm and not make any power.

    Of course if the cylinder is too big, then whatever piston you throw in there won't do any good.

    Max charge as in Max PSI? As in the max psi an engine can run, based off of its design characteristics?

    What is "ECR"?

    All based off of flow per psi. Those psi levels from the TRD are on the limit of acceptable. Turbo or URD, with less psi is already at the component threshold. Turbo the more so, due to higher torque increases.

    I thought that was what that guy was questioning. Though to be honest I've never been without someone technical enough to use the acronym ECR, which I assume meant engine compression ratio? Anyways, I assume he meant 12:1 as the maximum possible ratio of air, as measured at 1 atm, to fuel. Obviously boost would increase the mass of air in the cylinder past the amount in the stock compression ratio and I would think the amount of energy that can be safely generated from that extra amount of air and fuel in the engine is dictated by design, and not a flat value, but I could be wrong.

    Yes, I was saying 10-12 PSI would be as far as the E90 could be pushed on the Tacoma 1GR given what I've read on here. I don't know enough about Turbos on our engines to comment at all at what pressures and volumes things get unsafe.

    Usually I look at power output. If you pass a certain power output on a gas engine, things are likely to bend or break which will cause a catastrophic failure. I know that's oversimplifying, but it seems to hold true to some degree. Add components that replace the ones likely to bend or break, and you can push out more power with better reliability.

    CR is compression ratio, as the standard. Never seen ECR used as the signifier of that.

    I am thinking that his phone was auto correcting??? For AFR.

    Usually ~8 psi is the high end of the safe psi. When adding F/I to N/A. This is usually why they start out at 6 psi. Safer. That and the older standard of roughly double the hp, before you need to start upgrading components.

    Effective compression ratio I believe I have seen it before when I was blowing up my supercharged corolla at 12.5 boost
