Hey can anyone help with a CB install? I am planning on getting the Cobra 19...and maybe the Lil Wil Antenna....isn't there a CB shop near Cleghorn? I want to make sure that it is done right...I have been on runs where it seems the CB are shit and that we could not communicate with the last truck. Shouldn't they have a couple mile radius? Any other options for communication on the Trail. I know a few people fun 2 meter but it looks that the majority are on CBs.

I can remember the only D I received in engineering school was in some Differential Equations class - And I was glad to at least get that. Now they wouldn't let me graduate with that D. Half of the class dropped out!

Hey steve, can you do cleghorn in your truck? I know you can't do a lot of the narrower bypasses.

 

That CB shop sucks. I went there on the way to Big Bear to meet Paul.
I can help you with the install Tri, just let me know if you get the stuff so I can bring some tools for the electrical stuff.

 

how can a cb shop not be able to tune a cb?? Thats a damn shame!

 

It wasn't that they couldn't tune it, they didn't have a mount to put it on my truck. Their shop is a stall in truck stop so don't expect much if you go out there. I'm sure that we can do a better job than those guys.
Murphy, do you still have my SWR meter? Can you bring it?

 

AB so Lutely! I still never got mine tuned right. Maybe you can help me. 'Hope to have my 'remove-both-diffs-install-new-gears-and-front-locker" mod before then. Otherwise, I'll have to paint my seven's wheels black!

dont mean to take away from parksters offer but I can also help with the cb install, one of the very few things I can do...lol. Ill bring my SWR meter to socal mod day too in case anyone else needs it.

 

Nice...what CB unit are you running again? I am going to call Right Channel Radio to see what they say...I want to get a good CB.

dysfunctnlretard, I think I was about to ask you about your set up...maybe instead of badges...I will do the CB install. It is more useful I can do the badges on my own. What are you running...I think there was a link to it.

Jake, you and I could also have a mini mod day and knock out your badges. We could probably do that this week if you'd like!

 

I'll be in Ocotillo well on saturday and on Sunday I will be at a K-9 competition in Banning, CA

But that would be sweet if we can get together and do that.

 

Im running the Uniden Pro538. I got it pretty cheap off Amazon, like $52 I think. It came with a PA option which made it really easy to give it use as a PA system as well. So...Uniden 538 with a 4' Firestick Antenna kit from Right Channel Radios.

 

I know you and Jake are neighbors, so it should be pretty easy to meet up at either your's or Jake's garages someday this week.


It shouldn't take more than two hours (if that)!
