AZ BS Thread 2.0

I was excited to get AZ plates and residency, but I think I'll play the "contractor" card like I did for the 18 months a was in NY. I don't need no stinking smog test that way either.

 

Smog testing in AZ is so easy to pass as long as you don't have a check engine light (clear it before you go) and have a stock style gas cap you are fine. I passed my old truck all the time and it was never an issue

 

Be careful running out of state plates with an AZ address or working in AZ.

I was in town 2 weeks, got pulled over for "not yielding at a T intersection" (was doing 15 in a 25 posted city street and had looked both ways, no moving vehivcles). I got a ticket for that plus fine for not registering vehicle within the 10 days allowed. I had just moved here, starting a new job, was trying to buy a home, raising a kid. (Had plenty to do!) What a shitty "Welcome to Arizona". That was 37 years ago.

 

I did that out here when I was still in the Guard, that's why I kept my Colorado DL and tags, for 3 years

 

Az is even worse now.

 

I renewed my 06 a couple of months ago. $200 for 2 years and that includes specialized license plate of $25 for each year. I hated when it was new and paying $450 that first year and so on.

 

So, turns out that the lifted white 2016 I saw this weekend is a dealer preload that belongs to the GM at Right Toyota. That guy is always driving decked out Tundra's as well.

 

Wonder if it was a spacer lift

 

His Tundras usually have a ProComp DB lift with Coil Overs.. He seems to always put nicer shit on the stuff he drives. That said, I would guess that they went spacers with the Taco. Total Auto Pros on 16th street does all of their preloads..

 

I was at Avondale Toyota and they had a Tundy with a PC lift on 37s for sale or sold. It was fucking huuuuge!

 

That might just be a tad excessive!! His Tundra's are always the same, 6" lift on 35's, color matched everything including head/tail lights and a rigid grill. Drives them for a few months, then sells them for way too much money and starts all over again.

 

I've been told that the power steering pumps on these Tundras with the 35s have been blowing up. Toyota warranty is covering it though.

Seems my priorities might change as far as what I'm doing to my truck. One of my U-Joints are squeaking in reverse again. That means in a week or two, the vibes will start... and I'll be swapping them out AGAIN! I just did it 4 months ago, and 6 months prior to that... and..... Something has to be out of whack. I've replaced them 4 or 5 times already, and all in the past 3.5 years!!! Is there a good driveline shop here in town? Its a PreRunner
