If I sent you my lowers, bushings, and a $10 bill for some beer, can you do my bushings for me?

Yes. But that's just an opinion. Lots of people thought/think a turbo was a waist of money too. I didn't care.

If they come with a uniball adapter, uniball, corrected steering geometry to fix bump steer introduced with the uniball adapter, and the LCA...then no. Completely worth the $1500.
If they are just a boxed lower (which invariably will lower ground clearance) and everything else is the same...complete waste IMO. You could plate the factory arms like @Dirty Pool mentioned and wrap the bushing eylettes and it would be just as strong. But opinions are like assholes.

    ^What he said.

Case in point. Plated and wrapped 1st gen LCA that @Supermoto did for a member.

Those look good. Can you add things to them for a secondary shock, limit straps and a stike pad for an air bump? Or is that even needed?

There is about as much involvement in building a boxed factory lower arm as there is an LT. . I dont ever see that happening for $300. not even $600 lol

Something like this will cost about what a LT lower would cost.

if you break down any lower arm:

Cant run a uniball on the lower without completely changing the spindle.
    (4) 1" uniball kits @ $100 each. (inner pivots)
laser cuts @ $180 per kit.
welding @ few hrs per kit (shop rates go from $55-$100 hr)
powder coat @ $80 per kit (that a deal too)
    packaging @ $15.00 per kit.

that math is already way past the $300.00 target.

the only thing i see "beneficial/cost efficient" with a set of stock length lower arms is not having to buy fiberglass fenders, steering kits, shocks and whatever else to accommodate an LT kit.

Dual shock option will probably have to come with some sort of steering stops to keep the wheel from coming close to the shock since the truck doesn't have the width to put the wheels far from the shocks. A lot involved in a set of these lowers.

Chaos sells their stock replacement lowers for about $1900.00, and that's with bushings at the pivots too.

    http://www.chaosfab.com/accessories.php?id=96504#86500

these require 1.25" wheel spacers, probably to clear the shock. so now you got rid of the wheel ball joint and moved it all to the wheel.

P.S. I'm not calling Carlos a horse. It's another idiomatic expression.

The LT kit that mcm sells is $4,210. It includes, lower, uppers, new axles, and ads coilovers.

    For mid travel
    uca- TC-$750
    lca -$1500
    Ads coilover w/out resi- $1460

    =$3710

Is it cheaper.... yes...but not enough to not go LT
But there is cheaper uca's and coilover to run with the midtravel set up. Not sure if stuff gets any cheaper with Lt. There may be more things to go LT that I dont know as well.

Absolutely but for half the price of shipping anyone local with a press that knows how to use it can fix you up.

Hell for that kind of money your partially the way to funding a solid axle swap. Then no more worries any more about chicken winged shitty ifs. Granted if your goal is to go fast on dirt then LT would be the way to go.

Not sure, maybe should ask those Ultra 4 guys running solid front axles. Not like they haven't won the KOH or anything.

How do you clean up the sleeves that quickly? Pressing then out was easy once I figured it out but it was a pain in the balls cleaning them, at least without the proper tools.

The topic was "OEM for OEM/OEM type, not cleaning the rubber for poly bushings. See post #62.

Maybe we should address the ball joint problem first then.
