I'm looking at a 2015 prerunner trd sport. Looking at the carfax it had an alignment brand new then at 100 miles. Seems kinda weird to me. Truck now has 13000 miles. Test drove today and didn't really seem to be anything wrong, but I'm blinded as I really want the truck. Anything to look out for on a 2015?

Also it has Michelin tires and trd bead lock wheels. Did Toyota come factory with Michelins?

    Thanks for the comments!

I had two alignments in the past week, but thats because the technician was slightly inept.

Makes me wonder if a previous owner wreaked it where he had to replace the tires/wheel and just fixed it so it wouldn't show up on carfax? Really want a brand new truck, but scared to get a 2016 as its a whole new truck and might be some unknowns with it.

Maybe he had it aligned when it was pulling to one side and then the shop said no you need new tires to stop the pulling. Thus the new michelins and 2nd alignment.

Is it leveled or lifted? Any good rubs on the tires?

One can never have too many light bars.
The original owner probably swapped rims and tires at 100 miles and had it aligned then. Hopefully...

My 2015 trd sport 4x4 pulled slightly left right off the lot with only 9 miles on it. Tires vibration at high speed. I drove it for 900 miles but nothing changed. Took it to the dealership and they did a force balance and alignment. Truck ride totally different afterward. Technician couldn't explain why.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yes will have it inspected for sure. Just didn't know if there a known problem I should be worried about and wanted to ask. I'm still looking and will definitely keep this one in mind.

Nope, not leveled bone stock other than the tires, but I love the Michelins so bonus I guess!

Take it for another test ride to a Toyota dealership and get a mechanic to take a look. (Probably want to set that up in advance.)

I'm not sure if this is possible but if it's at a Toyota dealership you can inquire to certify it. If they walk away and come back and say no, i would get under that truck and really poke around. If they say yes ask how much and decide if it's worth it. I would think if they say yes it would offer me some piece of mind.
