    I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    Yeah with batteries, they can go bust even if not connected especially when old and not used for long time. Here is what I do to keep my battery. I still have my original from 2006)
    1. Add distilled water until blades are covered, don't go to much more above. They have to be covered.
    2. Attach float charger set to minimum rating. 1amp.
    3. Make sure caps are in place but give a little shake while battery is slowly charging. Sulfur acid is heavier than water so always will fall to bottom. Gentle shake while charging will keep acid mixing with water or salt crystals dissolving.

    Same like me. I keep adding water and occasionally acid when it gets low. Not sure you know but advance autoparts sells acid for batteries.
    Between water and acid batteries will last nearly forever.
