Only if you move the bolts:). Mark the alignment tab and frame with a sharpie so you can line them up when you re-assemble, and do it one bolt at a time.

This was a great thread to read, as I am going through the process of deciding the right kit to put together. I have the 2012 double cab v6 TRD offroad prerunner model.
I am leaning towards the OME 885 coils, the bilstein 5100's set at 0.85, and the wheelers 1.5" progressive AAL... (If anyone has advice or thinks differently or has this set up please let me know)
The toughest part is deciding on the tire size and wheels. Stock comes with a 265/70/r16. For price purposes I was leaning towards keeping the stock wheels... bad idea? What size tire would be best without it looking like I skip leg day? leaning towards the Cooper AT III...
Thanks in advance. This thread was so helpful for many, and I hope it suits the same for me.

With 885s you achieve the lift with the coils so there isn't a need to set the 5100s at .85, set them at 0.

Perfect Thanks, what size tires would you recommend. Tires is my issue right now

    The safe bet is 265/75/16s.

Here is mine with OME 885 coils and bilstein 5100s in the front and a .5" custom AAL with bilstein 5100s on the rear. This setup leveled my truck. I'll be going to a full leaf pack in the rear by next summer. I'm running 265/75/16 Toyo Open Country AT2. I also have a diff drop kit and carriage bearing kit. I have ZERO issues with anything. Once you go over 3" of lift is when you could start having the issues the shops speak of.image.jpg

2.5" front and .5" rear. I have my ground to fender measurements in another thread.

Nothing wrong with stock wheels, you can go up to 33s easy. And you can get better bang for your buck on other things than wheels.

I'd go with a full leaf pack over the AAL.

Good advice, is there a reason why?
I am leaning towards 265/75/16 so i can use that extra cash elsewhere.
Will I need spacers or whatever the things that guys talk about

The AAL depends on the stock leaf pack, which sucks. So you're spending money on a part that will have to be replaced in a few years. If you tow or carry weight the stock leafs last shorter.

    For 265s you shouldn't need a spacer. 275s you might, 285s you will need a 1.25" spacer.

This is exactly why I am going to a full leaf pack. Don't waste your money on a AAL. The chain is only as strong as the weakest link and in this case it's the rear leaf springs, they're junk. I wish I had gotten a full leaf pack but the shop that did my lift assured me I would not have any sagging problems, which I do when loaded up.

Not sure what you mean by 'and that is way more expensive'.

Dakar springs seem to be the most popular but they do have issues with being noisy. If you mean a full leaf pack is more expensive, yes it is. Dakar springs are going to cost me $680 plus the labour to install them. So not cheap at all but if you're going to load up with stuff the AAL will sag. I read somewhere here that even the Dakars sag to some degre.

Why $680 plus labor? Are they really that much more in Canada? Or are you figuring in the shocks and u-bolts as well? Both of which would be needed.

Full Dakar Leaf Pack $380.00 (US)

Yes, they really are that expensive in Canada. It's ridiculous.
