They are prepping for winter, and with the lake fire burning down the entire surrounding area, there isnt much food or water. Campsites are the next best thing. And for this time of year, they are desperate for food. I wouldnt be surprised. Good news is federal law allows for possession of a loaded firearm in your tent. Better news is if you live in San Bernardino county like me and have your ccw, then the above mentioned federal law doesnt matter

Oh and dont worry, those with kids and families.... i am well aware of gun safety and would never do anything stupid at camp, especially if ive been drinking. I have all my needed permits for CA and have taken a number of safety classes from the Sheriff's department and other 3rd party training facilities. Nothing to worry about here. Just incase that picture scared any of you ;)

Just discovered this thread. I work up in Rancho off Haven Ave! Along the lines of camping, me and a few dudes just backpacked up iceman canyon up past Monte Vista this last weekend. Deer were walking around the tent all night. No sign of bears though, luckily.

So didnt wanna bring the full size glock with tac light because its too big. The sub compact glock can tag along lol, that little guy packs a punch. The 12 guage.... i have no slugs :( only basic target loads. Not useful

"..especially when I've been drinking" is exactly when stupid shit happens. There has NEVER been an attack by a wild black bear recorded in SoCal. I have a much greater chance of being shot in camp than attacked. A great deal of research has demonstrated conclusively that pepper spray has stopped far more attacks than firearms. Buy some.

To clarify what i meant was that i respect the 0 tolerance for guns/alcohol at the same time. So if i do decide to have a few, any firearms i may bring will be safely stored somewhere else. I agree that although the bear thing is highly highly unlikely, it's never bad to be prepared. No worries though, in all honesty i was mostly just messing around to be funny. Contrary to how i made it sound, i wont be bringing an arsenal to camp and I wont be sitting at dinner with a 12 guage beside me or a glock on the table :p;) it was just for fun my friend

I speak grizzly, very similar dialect to black bear, but the funny thing is that Raawwr in grizzly translates to sphincter and in black bear it means mango.

    Things you didn't know.
