Aaaaaaannnnddd now I have too. Chased a heron away this morning; it had a fish in its mouth when I saw it, which it took with it. I looked out 5 minutes later and it was back! So we dragged out the netting. Sigh.

 

Herons gotta eat too bro.

You too! No fish in the pond, no herons. Put one fish in there and they show up!
Have to say though, they are darn patient waiting for a meal to swim by!

 

This is the first heron we've seen on the ground in the 23 years we've been here. There have been fish in the pond the whole time. Now I guess I have to research ways to keep them away. Maybe one of those motion sensor water sprinklers...

Caribou season in zone 3 closed out early short notice, so no second trip there. Today is close of Bullwinkle (Weesa considerate) ... so I guess I'm eligible to register for hwy corridor if they invoke it. Wait and see ... freezer still in pretty good shape though.

When does your season open?

 

A Heron can wipe out a one in one feeding.

 

Iffy at best. Netting works but is a PITA. When I do my fall pond clean up I am going to install 40 pound test fishing line.

 

Hit 90K today.

 

I don't even know what the mileage is on mine. It's under 50K, but not by much. I'm putting more miles on than I thought I would.

Archery opens in PA on Oct. 3, and runs until Nov 14. It always seemed like the last 3 weeks are the best because of the rut.
My freezer is pretty darn empty by now, but it won't be for long! Even if I don't get a deer, there will be plenty of walleyes in there shortly----I HOPE!
Just received a case for the crossbow that I bid on on e-bay. Most places sell them for $120, I got it for $67.
There are deer along the river where I fish for walleyes; figure if I take the boat up for walleyes I'll just take the bow with and hunt early morning, and then fish. Didn't want the bow to be unprotected in the boat, or even when just driving somewhere to hunt.

Just got done mowing the front part of the lawn, did part of the back yesterday. Hope this is the last of the mowing for this year.

 

Hunt fish combo sounds AWESOME! Kind of a PA Surf-n-Turf; that's what I call halibut and bullwinkle when I cook them at the same time here, AK Surf-n-Turf.

Just cut mine yesterday Carl. 1st time in a month due to the lack of rain. In mid August, I dug a 4ft deep hole and the 1st 3ft were bone dry.

 

We were like that up here for the first half of Summer this year. We were playing catch up from our lack of snow over Winter. It'd rain, sometimes pretty heavy even, then 30 mins after it stopped the grass/ground would be bone dry again. Oddest I'd ever seen it in my 14 years here.

 

The only repair I had that I was kind of pissed about is a wheel hub replacement around 75K. The Tacoma is a pretty well built pickup with minimal maintenance. Just replace all the fluids at 90K, pretty easy to do.

Yes it is. Maintenance is a lot different than the 6 cylinder.

 

Yep, mine is the 4cyl too. I was gonna say I went ahead and did my spark plugs around 92K along with coolant. The old original plugs looked remarkably good for that many miles.
