There's a TSB and a free fix for this. Dealer flashes the ECM, just had it done last week on my '13. Knock became noticeable and consistent in the Texas heat, its now gone :)

Aluminum or steel? If steel, you might want to paint those a darker color to hide the rust once it starts showing up.

The skid didn't take a direct hit from the rock, but the driveshaft made friends with it. There's a chance that the tank could have been gouged deep enough to leak if the skid hadn't been in place.

I hosted an initial group buy when the skids came out. Right now I only have a few left in stock as I don't have access to the cnc router I used to make the skids. I'm looking for a local shop that can help me make these again as well as new models. I'll keep you guys informed.

Yeah I remember your initial group buy, unfortunately I was unemployed at the time so it wasn't really an option for me. Good luck finding a new shop to do you CNC work!

All you gotta do is hose or pressure wash your leaf springs and treat them with white lithium grease and I never hear squeaking again. Btw I was wondering if you can use fluid film for the leaf springs as well? I just got some cans after reading about people using it to avoid rust in frame but will it work on leaf springs as good as white lithium grease?

Well, its been a long time coming, a lot of research, flipping back and forth about which lift, how high etc.. and finally just added a 3" Lift and I LOVE it! THANK YOU to all of you at TacomaWorld for your helpful insight, postings and advice!

This is the Toytec TTHA-CK lift with 5100 coil overs (Toytec 521600 coils) and 2" rear AAL with the 5100 Nitro rear shocks. I was on a bit of budget and had some concerns about getting the truck into alignment with the full 3" lift as I did not want to spend the extra cash for new UCA's, apparently there was no need for me to worry at all, because the Cochrane TacomaTown dealership said it was absolutely no problem to get it back in line after the lift and as far as I can tell they did an amazing job, no wandering and smooth at all speeds.

I'm pretty happy about paying $1300 for parts on this kit. the Toytec website lists it at $919 USD, conversion into CAD would put it at $1225, So I paid $75 more than having bought it my self, not including shipping and duty (Totally understand Toyota probably gets wholesale cost of course, but whatever, still a great price from a Stealership :))

Wow, what a different over the stock 2014 suspension, this Toytec kit soaks up the bumps, no more jarring and feeling ever little pavement imperfection. Evey thing is super tight, no more nose dive at stops, and she takes corners like a champ! I can't imagine how amazing a King or Icon set up would feel!

My tires are the General Grabber AT2's 265/70/17. I intend on going a bit bigger once these wear out, but based on the below picture and how close the UCA is to the tire I assume I'll need some rims with an offset or some wheel spacers to go to a bigger tire (or new UCA's), I can't believe how close the tire is to the UCA, there's been zero rubbing, but I can't fit my pinky finger between them.

Have you used fluid film? If so where and how do you apply it?
