I will say, I don't drive the ecoboost like a grandma. My average is usually around 15 mpg. I am rarely on the freeway. If I watch the boost I can push it close to 17 mpg. I am running a stock SCT tune with 91 octane. The only downside is a little turbo lag. It is less noticeable with the tune but it is still there. I haven't tested the rev limiter but it will hit it with ease. I have kept the limiter at the factory setting.

Ok thanks. The build a tundra page was kind of sparse on details. The Ford one laid out every single option I'd selected at the end. Toyota didn't, so it was hard to see what it actually came with.

I do have an sr5 tundra lol only thing I don't have is the heated seats. There is also a king ranch ford in my drive way so I'm not just a Toyota fan boy.

Now we're talking about F150's vs Tundra's....on a Tacoma forum. Can we talk about Subaru's now?

What trim? I picked SR thinking it was similar to Ford XLT (which is one step above basic work truck).

    Edit. Nevermind I see SR.

There is a big difference between an SR5 Tundra and a King Ranch F150

A King Ranch F150 is the same trim line as Toyota's 1794 Editions. Price those two out.

What you are saying is the same as trying to compare a loaded up XLT Ford to a GMC Sierra Denali. Sure some of the options are the same on paper, but get into each truck. Big difference there.

SR5 and XLT would be the same trim level.

Yes I under stand the price difference. I was stating I have both of them so you can't call me out for favoring the tundra. And yes the king ranch was quite a bit more expensive than my sr5 tundra

I can get a King Ranch in Canada for about 50K, maybe a little less. I can get the Tundra SR5 for about 45K. So yes, there is a price difference if I pick the high end of the F150 and the lower end of the Tundra. However, my XLT XTR Ford F150 5.0 L 4x4 with a few options was only 41K CAD. It has a similar options package to the TRD Tundra, which would of been close to $50K CAD.

You aren't comparing apples to apples, is my point, which suggests you have a bias for some reason.

You should just get the base forester, and then you could build it up better than the 2.0XT for less money.

Outback has more interior space. Forester felt cheap, but seems more manageable. Wasn't overly thrilled with the 'wood' paneling in my Outback, either. And my USB port died within 6mos. Had to use Bluetooth. Switching between devices was only done via voice controls, which was a total pain in the ass.

Sorry man, I thought you were from your phrasing. My bad.

I'm surprised you didn't look at an F150 XLT XTR 5.0 L with the FX4 and package 302A on it if you were going to build up a full size. Real lockers and a higher stock ground clearance with a much lower total weight would of maybe been an easier starting point for a build of a fullsized offroad truck.

When you say more "manageable," do you mean on the trails? How's the clearance in these things?
