Normally one installs the axle shims with the thick part towards the rear of the vehicle which will rotate the pinion "up" which reduces the driveline angle. The only times I have seen rear shims installed with the thick side forward was when folks had added way long shackles which will rotate the pinion way up, and shims will help reduce that. For just an add a leaf you would normally install the shims with the thick side to the rear.

Ok thanks. I was careful not to move too much around but they turned on me so when I got it together the driveline looked a bit weird.

2015's likely came with the TSB pack that was recently put on the trucks with driveline vibes. I have the pack on my 2013 and it had a small 2* shim to angle the pinon down, yes down, to reduce driveline vibes. Though when i did my AAL i took it out.

As I said earlier I was so careful to put everything together as it was but then it looked odd because of the shim direction I took it back apart and turned the shim around so I guess I'll just have to drive it and see if it's ok. The aal also said aproxamately 2 inches of lift. Well before and after measurements I got 3.5 inches.
